Sounds like they're seeking some kind of restitution. Kearney might have a tough scone but it'll get a bit sore butting heads with Flanno over a few pennies.

Lol we'd end up with RTS as well in the package if it comes down to a stand off between Kearney and Flanno

someone i know is extremely confident that we will get an early christmas present, perhaps even 2

Assuming Johnson is one of them.

Who could the second be? a back, a forward. Suppose with Johnson we move Moylan to FB so we're not as desperate in the back. Depth Winger could be good. My money is on another forward.

Before or after the Widdup news?

Holmes, Klemmer, Napa, McGuire, now Johnson with Widdup one foot out the door! Is a NRL contract worth ANYTHING any more.
It's been an Amazing off season for defections!

After, posted this morning.

'SJ's Advisors have told other NRL Clubs he intends to sign with the Sharks' or something along those lines.

When Val left I was pretty set on the fact that anyone we signed as a 'replacement' would be a significant downgrade.

But Johnson in would be very very exciting.

My thoughts as well. The more I think about it the more I think Johnson would be a great fit for us. I would however play him at 5/8 with Chad at 7.

With an SJ/Chad combo I don't think the numbers would matter. They'd both kick and they'd both run when appropriate, with SJ testing the line more. They'd link together both ways in attack no doubt.

So the rumour now are that SJ had a verbal agreement for 2020 onwards with a club, and that may be why the 2019 agreement is stand-alone.

If that's the case you'd put $1,000,000 on the 2020 onwards being Roosters.

And if we're in the box seat for 2019, we'd be giving him that without any competition, then having to compete for him for 2020 onwards. You'd think he'd rather not move clubs but who knows.

It'd be great to **** on the Roosters plans.

Doesn’t make sense.
If he has “an agreement” for 2020 with “a club” then why would he have been pushing the Warriors for an extension now with 1 yr still at the Warriors on $1m pa? He didn’t need to go elsewhere as a gap year.
