Yep Morris is defiantly still a class player. He may not be what he used to be but he's a hell of a lot better than Ricky will ever be.

It is possible our backline could be:

1.Barba
2.Hayne
3.Dugan
4.Morris
5.Feki

That is a pretty f***ing crazy backline lol especially if Barba/Val swap happens ; Barba knows how to bring his backline players into the game well

Bin the swap deal for 2019. I’d rather have Holmes for 2019 even if he’s off to the Cowboys in 2020. It’s not like Holmes hates the joint, I think he’ll be professional enough not to phone it in.

:good:

I think Hayne will end up getting decent money from somewhere. Probably the Dragons.

If a club is dumb enough to give him what he wants (rumuored to be $700k - $800k) then good luck to him. As long as it's not us.

I hear you.. it’s not up to us though just saying it might happen.

Personally I think Barba is the better fullback, if not one of the best... Why keep Holmes if he does want to go anyway and then risk seeing Barbas price skyrocket once he starts tearing it up.

Barba will turn 31 during the 2020 season, I don't think his price will skyrocket. Apart from that everyone knows he's only one stuff up from oblivion.

Keep Val for 2019 and sign Barba for 2020. No reason why we can't get the deal done once Val makes it official.

Well another option: would any of us want the club to seriously look at Matt Dufty as a Holmes replacement in 2020? A lot of rumours about him being on the outer at St George. I’m not entirely sold on him but better judges then any of us reckon he’s got a big upside. Personally I’d prefer Barba but I’m probably slightly biased as the bloke is part of our premiership winning crew and I’d love to see him in our jersey again. But still, is Dufty a legit option in your eyes?

Not under any circumstances. No way.

I don't know. I've wanted Val at fullback but I reckon Barba is (or at least has been) better.

I do worry about age though.

I wouldn't mind if they put Moylan back there and got a better half. Moylan is sort of a Barba-light.

So whatever they do I don't care.

The only issues with Moylan at fullback is:
1. He really wants to play 5/8th.
2. He’s been busting his arse in the gym changing his body for the position.
That’s what I’ve read anyway.

I like what I saw with Moylan at 5/8th this year I’m more inclined to leave him there, stick with what works.

HB.. Barba ain’t no ordinary fullback, I don’t think age stops players of his caliber that’s usually their prime.. they just get smarter.

The main thing is he can get more out of our backline then Val does, especially Dugan and Morris

Would be worth doing if barba signed for 2 or 3 years. But I doubt he'd do that when he should be backing himself to earn one more big contract.
