I don’t think it’s in the bag for manly yet... I’m sure we are going to put a pretty good offer out there for him. If he ends up over there that’s okay we will survive. Maybe we can go after the hayne plane once and for all

Why leave the Roosters because you will be playing second fiddle and go to manly to do the same thing ?

May as well tell Newcastle that the price is 1.2 million, because they would pay it no doubt at all.

The guy has won a comp, may as well cash in.

He’d be a certain starter in the halves with Cherry Evans if he goes to Manly.

He’d be behind Cronk and Keary if stayed at the Roosters.

People keep talking about Cronk’s arrival, but Keary is the one costing Pearce a spot at the Roosters.

Not really... Keary was already there, and Cronk is taking Pearce's number 7 jersey. Not sure how you came to that conclusion.

I reckon Pearce would of happily played 5/8 for 2 years outside of Cronk.

Problem with that is I don’t think that option was on the table.

A ha, I see what you meant.

Now that Pearce is off to Manly, I am just glad that the innuendo is over and the focus can be taken off Val.

As far as Manly and Roosters go I don't give a flying funk. I do hope Roosters gamble on cronk fails and he has a bludger of a year when separated from Smith.

I don't think he'd be behind Keary, but I guess we'll never know,

So apparently Maloney's third party deal with the Panthers might be off?

Article in reference I assume:

MALONEY DEAL HITS A SPEEEDBUMP

The James Maloney deal at Penrith has been stalled in bizarre fashion.

Paul Kent revealed on NRL 360 the NRL is now scrutinising a third-party deal which is part of the contract, after Maloney accidentally let slip to media the nature of the sponsorship.

It means he could lose $200,000 on the contract and it puts the entire move in jeopardy.

“James Maloney actually got himself in trouble there ... he came out the other day and said he’s waiting on the club to organise a third-party deal to come through,” Kent said.

“It can’t be club-driven, it has to be player driven.

“Unforunately he’s let the cat out of the bag so the NRL is now looking at it.

“It’s a $200,000 Keno sponsorship, and I daresay the NRL is about to knock it back.

“That would make it very interesting to see what happens there.”

Let's imagine that the article has some basis in the truth. Would the NRL just knock back the contract or would they do what they're supposed to do and penalise the club for trying to cheat the cap?

Would be quite funny if he didn't end up with the intended pay day.

Let’s swoop in with a counter offer. I think the team we have right at this moment has the best chance of winning another premiership especially is Maloney is a happy camper

“The other interesting thing I heard this afternoon is the three clubs ... Manly, Sharks, and Knights, have spoken to Pearce’s manager Steve Gillis. The Brisbane Broncos and Melbourne Storm I believe have directly contacted Mitchell and said we’re monitoring the situation.
Get ****ed.

I actually think the knights will throw like 1.2 mil at him and he will go there for pure financial reasons. Plus he has a few old rooster team mates there next year.
