For the record, I have it on good authority that Morris is not necessarily retiring next year. In fact he is likely not too.

Season is young though, but id expect a retirement after his 300th game

I think this may have had something to do with the coaching story.

John Morris (Cronulla Sharks): Completed Bachelor of Education/PDHPE at Newcastle University and is currently studying a Masters of Coaching at Sydney University. He is also an NRL Education Ambassador and has completed a Certificate IV in Personal Training and an Advanced Diploma of Management.

I do not think we should re-sign him as a player - Degois is starting to have more impact then him and that is a worry.

If he is tossing up retirement and there is a job going now I would take if I was him, why chance finishing your career in NSW cup?
