Not so much about that, just would prefer to keep Jimbo.

Don't see the point in signing Cronk for one year when Maloney is contracted for then.
cronk would be the better candidate to develop our younger halves but in saying that not sure how I feel about going into 2019 with a rookie half

It's one of those things tho, everyone is a rookie at some point. Only way to gain experience is to get them in if they think he's ready

no doubt, but it's about giving them the best possible chance to develop.

We don't exactly have a very experienced spine so bringing in a rookie half with chad is risky especially planning so far a head

I'd rather a rookie like flanno pushing an experienced half out because he is playing so well not going into a season with him penciled in as a certain starter

I hope Flanno does what's best for the team rather than his son. There's a potential conflict of interest here.

If you skim through the posts on here from previous years you'll find that this isn't a unique thought, and that a lot of people have had the same concern... funnily enough, the kid is the top point scorer in a team that is absolutely dominating the Comp.... a few years younger than everyone else too

If we start losing games, I doubt Flanno Snr keeps his son in the team just because he is his son.

U seen much of kyles game? Kids got a big future. If anything shane being coach might play in the cllubs favour as kyle might be less inclined to leave the club to take up a certain first grade spot if it came to a point where flanno thinks he might need another year development or something. Unlike say Lichaa who let his ego take him to the dogs and now noone wants him

"Probably nothing will be decided until the end of the year I would think, and that's exactly how we're treating it," Flanagan said.

"As far as we're concerned he's here for the rest of the year, we've chatted with Jimmy and his focus is to have a good last seven weeks and get us into the semi finals."

Sounds like honoring the final year of his contract in 2018 is barely on the cards anymore.

I honestly don't think he'll sign with us

But,

Do you think he's taking time to consider our offer just to piss off Maloney?

Roosters downgrade Ferguson extension offer
JULY 20, 2017, 8:02 AM BY JOEL

Apparently the Roosters aren’t impressed with Blake Ferguson being splashed across the papers due to alcohol again (we’d argue that’s more the media’s fault than his, but that’s neither here nor there).

According to 7Sport, the Roosters have downgraded their contract offer to Ferguson from two years to one, as a result of the recent “controversy” (we use the term ‘controversy’ there incredibly loosely).

The report suggests that Ferguson was shopped around to a variety of NRL clubs, including the Dragons, Sharks, Tigers and Eels; and as yet, nobody else has made a serious bid for his services.

Ferguson is understood to be keen to stay at the Roosters, and with few better options, he might be forced to stay put anyway. However, you’d have to think that somebody will come up with a better offer for a current Origin player eventually.

Ferguson has played 156 first grade games for the Roosters, Raiders and Sharks, 7 Origins for New South Wales, and 7 Tests for Australia.
