I've mentioned this before and maybe I'm over simplifying things but with missing out on Bird I can't see why we can't upgrade with the following

Roberts 500k
Nofulouma 350k
Mataulino 400k
haraweara-Naera 250k

We offfered bird 700k
Heighno gone 300k
Taga and Williams gone 300k
Beale gone 250k

Forget the actual names of you don't like them but surely we can budget an upgrade at this quality??

Love to hear thoughts?

I reckon your estimates are at least 30% too low for all of those targets mate. More than 30% for some of them.

That being so... and we can agree to disagree on the estimates but I'll grant you 30% ...we should still be in the market for these calibre of players ... even if it was 3 out of the 4

I like Roberts, but he's heads not right. I still think the best option on the market is Gagai, but Newcastle are going to move heaven and earth to keep him I think, might be a bit too much for what we would be willing to pay a guy who's going to be a specialist centre. Part of me says simply to re-sign Beale and keep developing Ramien.

I hear that. We could follow the Warren Buffet mantra-Sell when everyone's buying and buy when they're selling. So we stay out of the big 2018 player market, and wait for 2019/2020 to invest. There will always be good players to buy.

We basically made our premiership side like that. It's the way to go.

not with a pending court case hanging over his head.

takairangi was decent today but mostly is pretty average. Would take nathan brown in a heart beat he's a real goer. Ma'u would be good as well although he's started the year down on last year's form

Yeah - he does some good things but he does a lot of really dumb things too. I think he'd be a bench or depth player on a top 4 team.

Rumour has it that Woods is heading to the Bulldogs, if that's the case & they look to offload James Graham should we have a go at him?

Wouldn't touch him. He would commend a fair bit of money and is down on the form he was in when he first arrived onto our shores. To me his runs are no where near as strong as they use to be

Rather go after someone cheaper and younger who we can develop and improve. We seem to have a good knack at improving forwards
