They said on NRL360 last night that Taumololo is going re-sign with Nth Qld for $1.2mil a season. Big bucks for a forward. That's going to tie up a massive chunk of their cap. Depending on the unknown cap, of course.

Yeah fair point, I guess it depends on the cap increase. With the potential to be the best forward in the game for a significant period its worth the risk I think.I'm sure they can afford it, but it's going to have an impact on their team somewhere else. I think they'll end up with a weak point.
Thurston has already said he is going around in 18 so on two players alone they will have close to 2.5 mill tied up.

You wouldn't be happy with Vaughan, Williams, Starling, Leilua and Cook? That covers almost all of our bases IMO.
no, because we wont get vauaghan, we wont get leilua and cook is another plodder to add to the ranks
then you have to add in trex who is unpredictable, although i like it, and starling
so in reality, starling, williams and cook is ****ing **** house for a team about to play in a prelim

Supposedly Broncos are chasing Ryan James for 2018. He's a bloke I'd like us to chase. Absolute beast.
Because we rarely win those contests over signatures, and we don't need Farah. We just don't. The guy is quite a few years off his best and he is 33 in January. We should be looking for a guy like Kosty. I'd rather have Cook in our side next year than Farah.Whats dumb about that? Missed out on a mediocre player to chase a genuine replacement to ennis. It would have been dumb to settle for kosty and not chase farah.

..Obviously if we don't sign them then it's not a success. That's why I wrote 'direction'.
Furner was on radio a week or two back... Certainly sounded like Vaughan and Fensom were likely to be allowed to leave at the end of the year but that he wouldn't speak about it until the post season. If Vaughan nails down a spot in the 17 then you would think that would change things.
..
The two of then would be very very handy additions for us. Fensom has a great workrate and Vaughan has really great credentials and potential
