Yeah. He's the best possible replacement for Lewis. Complete player, leader, good age, can ball play a bit like Lewis. Strong defender. Can play 80 minutes. Would be an amazing match with Graham and would allow Flano to play just tight forwards off the bench, especially as the interchange goes down to 6.

Is this definitely happening?

Assuming it happens, I think it will mean edge backrowers almost never get a rest (barring injury). Most don't now but with only 6 changes, most of those will go to rotating the middle 3 (or 4 if you play a bench hooker). Plus, most coaches keep one spare change up their sleeve to cover an injury.

A guy like Gillett can carry the ball like a prop and pass like a 5/8 for 80 minutes. Pretty valuable proposition.

I have a feeling it will go down to 6 in 2018, and we'll have 2 years at 8 interchanges. Just a hunch.

Nevertheless it's important to plan for such a thing and we have the perfect opportunity to start planning.

I agree. I don't think the NRL have the balls to do it next year.

The 80 minute hooker will be a must if it drops to 6. Hopefully we're grooming all our potential ennis replacements to play the full game.

Yes I think pretty much everyone wants it. I haven't seen it confirmed anywhere but I may have missed it.

The Players Association is having a whinge about the current reduced interchange, citing player welfare or some ****.

You must have to pay your membership fees based on weight.

The less interchanges we have the more we have to look at returning to the 5 metre rule IMO.

10 metres is a long way to run backwards in defence between each play.

Stuff the 5m rule, you've got to remember these blokes can actually train properly not like the old days where they had to work like a normal person so the level of fitness is a hell of a lot higher.

There are more entertaining ways to expend energy to it's maximum level than running backwards for 40 minutes.
