Would probably be the quickest 1-5 the club has ever seen though.

Probably but this 1-5 weren't slow coaches either

Peachey
Rogers
ET
Richardson
Barnett

Granted ET was halfway through his career at that point in time but the others were virtually between 1-3 yrs into their FG career & were all sharp.

With Tawera Nikau popping slam dunk passes ... I loved that team

Me too, it still breaks my heart to think we couldn't seal the deal winning a comp with a very very decent team for more than a few years.

If only Mitch Healey's drop kick was half a foot to the left ... I still hold gratitude for the entertainment that side gave me, even though we never claimed the ultimate.

Guys over at the bronco forum seem sold Roberts will sign with them.

Probably the best place for him tbh

Hopefully under Bennett he can gain a spot in the blues side. Him and Jennings in the centers is drool worthy.

If Roberts goes to the broncos I can only imagine they will shed a centre/winger or two and add to the already impressive list of center's that have become available at the back end of this year

Copley or Maranta anyone?.

Personally I would still like lafai if the opportunity arose. He has been linked to clubs but isn't all but, like Roberts and hiku

If Roberts not an option I wouldn't chase Hiku or Lafai too hard. I don't think they're enough of an upgrade to warrant the time or money.

Bird/Beale/Leutele even Feki I'm fine with as our centre options.

I know not many are too keen on Loots but he wouldn't be costing the world and has upside IMO outside better halves. Your squad can't be full of proven performers and all good sides have their 'Leutele'. He seems a good clubman who puts in and has some growth potential. Not gonna light it up on his own, but the exact sort of bloke who'd excell in a side like Melbourne where he'd know his role and fill it well.

If Roberts ends up at Brisbane you'd expect them to win it next year. The only thing they really missed this year was outside back speed, and unless they score injuries that squad will be near unstopable.
