all you can really judge on is the article, and it makes it sounds like we were busy shooting for Burgess. How do you know we didn't?

When are people on here going to realise that no one except the player, their agent, the club CEOs and the boards know who is negotiating and what they are negotiating. Everything else is speculation, simple as that. I don't mind people posting rumours etc, but comments like "why didn't we chase so and so?" really infuriates me. And please Gumby, no offence at all to you personally.
None of us knew about us chasing burgess.
The thing is, we are always shooting for the guy getting pushed out. Bout to time we had a few stabs at the big fish (like we did with DCE, and ultimately Maloney too).Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we weren't, but either way assuming we were or weren't after any player is speculation.
Generally all us mere mortals have to go off is what is reported, and we can only speculate further based on that. You can probably assume though, that IF the article was true and we were after burgess, we probably weren't shooting for grevs as well as him accepting could easily jeopardise what were able to offer burgess. Landing burgess would have been huge, but the likelihood would have been very low, and shooting for the guys getting pushed out would be the better option.
Again though, all hypothetical and speculative, but **** it, it's the off season and there's not a whole lot else going on. Good to hear we are potentially in a position and prepared to start throwing big money at marquee players, hopefully something will stick.
Chris Grevsmuhl has gone to the panthers apparently. Wish we'd have had a crack at signing him and not wasted our time with joseph paulo.

Grevsmuhl is such a good player though. Just annoyed we didn't try and sign him.

We should throw a lowball contract to that Starling Bloke, with a rev up he may yet prove a good front row bench option. With a Bird and starling we could fly high.
