Frizell, Bukuya, Townsend, Peachy, Lichaa, Fifita.

We needed to keep at least 3 of these and a couple from our current squad and built for the future.
We are going to be the ones hoping the club doesnt lock up their young talent when our dads army of players start dropping.

I was sitting reading this thread just now and saw more questions asking if Lichaa has already signed and I thought Yarrashark can't be too far away and then bang! There he is. Good on ya mate didn't disappoint me it's only the 999th time you've posted that info.

Zero Tackle doesn't mention Michael Lichaa's name as being off contract in 2014.
Is he definitely off contract?

I'll give myself an uppercut - Found an old article.

Sharks secure young talent

The Cronulla Sharks have been active in securing the services of a number of young and talented players for 2013 and beyond.

Michael Lichaa, just this week named in the Junior Kangaroos team to tackle the Junior Kiwis on Saturday, was the first to commit to the Sharks for a further two years, a contract which will see him remain in Cronulla colours through until at least 2014.

Then in some further positive news, Sharks Toyota Cup halfback Penani Manulalealii, selected to go up against Lichaa and the Australians as a member of the Junior Kiwis squad, agreed to extend his time at the Sharks by signing off on a new one-year deal.

Others to join the two in the NRL Sharks summer training squad after re-signing for next year include front rower Rodney Coates and the 2012 NSW Cup pair of Tyrone Peachey and Sosaia Feki.

And joining that group and soon to be training alongside the likes of Paul Gallen, Todd Carney, Lewis, Ryan, Gordon and Heighington is Bulldogs 2012 Toyota Cup back rower Tupou Sopoaga.

Just wondering what other people think is behind the Sharks ability to improve forwards when they come to the club, and also produce our own good forwards too.

Is it because Flanno is one dimensional and concentrates on them more, or could it be Gallen leading by example and forcing them to man up?

If we were able to bring out the monster in (a reportedly lazy) Fifita, I'm pondering whether we could do something with a scaredy cat T-Rex on the cheap?

We have been developing good forwards since before Gal came on the scene

I just think our footy has been borin since the lang coached era and peachey at fullback era
chris Anderson came in and changed our style all together and we have just gone downhill since
we bought the best centre in the game(vagana) and he forgot how to cross the line
Some things gotta give
we have great players with us for a little while but then we have nsw cup players as regulars in our firsts team

It's that flat style of attack that was all the rage in the late 90's that he won a comp with Storm with he brought here and every coach we have had after has more or less stuck with it. We have adapted to the wrestle trend but still flat as a tack in the attacking line. That **** don't work anymore, even when we had Kimmorly who won that comp at Storm

yeah I get where you're coming from 1990, Lang era to this ... and the reason it came to this was pressure for a 1st premiership.

This should be celebrated by the masses, it should be a term of endearment rather than hate, what happened to going for the underdog? now it seems like kicking the loser while they're down, sorry state ...
That's right, we loved the John lang style of attacking play but we still didn't have a premiership so club went for quick fix. Might have even worked if Ando didn't cut some of our best talents out of the squad

Interesting. None of the names mentioned (beyond our current players we need to re-sign) particularly excite me beyond Luke Douglas. Can you tell your friends at the Sharks that the fans are done with the JWright experiment? The man doesn't understand the meaning of grounding a ball in-field. For a dude with eyes a kilometre apart his peripheral awareness is non-existent.

None of those potential new signings excite you? There's multiple there I would happily consider bring onto the books. Read it again or watch more league mate

Yarra has Ronald M / Marldon-esque levels of predictability. I don't think I've ever seen anything positive posted by Yarra, ever.

Bit harsh, Chad. People are asking, Yarra is telling.

Well, someone has to play hooker, and we have to pay someone something to do it.

What do we want to spend? 100k? How good will that bloke go? Who is available that will come? If we were to get anyone even half decent they are going to cost at least that much anyway.
