Sharks Tupou Visits Hospital
2 March 2010

The look of excitement on a seven-year-old Sharks supporter’s face said it all when Anthony Tupou visited a young patient at St George Hospital last Sunday.

It was the same day the Sharks held their 2010 Fan Day on the back of their trial game the previous night against the Tigers.

The word was out that young Jack Bridges was an avid Sharks Supporter and a visit by a Sharks footballer would make a big difference to the seven-year-old who had spent nearly six weeks in hospital with a fractured femur.

With Jack not able to attend the Fan Day, Anthony Tupou left straight after it had finished and spent a solid hour with him. During the visit young Jack and Anthony about the 2010 season and tactics, with visiting family and friends joining in the discussion.

Jack’s parents, John and Samantha Bridges, from Helensburgh, extended their sincere thanks to Anthony for taking the time to visit their son during his hospital stay. Anthony later attended the Club's season launch.

As a momento of Anthony’s visit, Jack was given a football which was autographed by the entire 2010 Sharks Squad as well as a membership cap, which was worn by the Australian Representative on the Club’s fan day earlier that morning.

New front of Shorts Sponsor Russell Lewis, owner of Shire Steel Supplies was also there in support!

Does anyone know the Bridges or Lewis families?

It would be great if they could be made aware of, or contribute to this thread.
