Weidler has tried to set himself up as "the players mate" in an attempt to wrangle exclusive access on these types of stories. It's not a bad strategy but obviously will only work if he continues to be supportive of the player.
The downside of this is that by forgoing impartiality, his only chance of actually being accurate is if the player is telling the truth. Lets hope this is the case in this instance.
Further to this matter, has anyone noticed that the media, especially the News Ltd agencies, have been very quiet on the possibility that the Fifita's have been misrepresented in this matter? They went off half-cocked in a hysterical front page frenzy but have suddenly become very quiet on the matter.
Would love to see some serious grovelling from some of these frauds if the the whole thing turns out to be a storm in a teacup, possibly even some legal action?
