True. But hopefully he can see if he was the best player in a grand final (despite not getting the CCM), that he is a great player and just needs to keep his nose clean and he could be a huge force on the international stage, not give up now.
Mate it's the political bull**** going on behind the scenes....it would be pissing me off as well tbh. The way the CCM was handled is absoltely pathetic, he was the best player on teh ground, end of story. Nothing else should come into it. The NRL are like a bunch of school kids sometimes.

Don't even start on the fact the codes 'team of the year' is picked on the amount of times rabs and gould mention a player in the broadcast.

This whole thing is ridiculous and being poorly handled by both sides.

Its like two little boys in the playground. One boy is poking and taunting the bigger boy to see what he can get away with, the bigger boy then drops the little boy, now the little boy is sulking because the reaction he got isnt what he expected it would be.

There was no need to write F.K.L on his arm. He obviously supports his mate from way back who has done something terribly stupid and cost a poor kid his life, so writing that on your arm in a televised game around the country is merely poking the bear. It reeks of "Look how clever i am no one will know what it stands for" or "What are you going to do about it".

Well the NRL have now shown him what they will do about it. As long as they stay consitant with this, i see no issue apart from the one Fifita is looking like creating by whining because the reaction he got wasn't the reaction he was expecting.

Do i agree with not giving him the CCM or picking him for Aus? Definitley not the CCM. He was head and shoulders B.O.G.

Repping Aus however, i can see why they have drawn a line in the sand. The Aussie jersey should be about the best players, showing pride in their country and the game, and he is too big a risk at the moment to do or say something stupid and overshadow the international competition they are trying to promote.

I agree the politics is **** - But I just think he should keep his head down for a bit and wait for everything to cool off - its footy someones going to do something dumb again soon and all will be forgotten. :cheers

Who says that was his intent? Players write things on their strapping every game for a variety of reasons.

If you actually beleive that he didnt realise it would be an issue but did it anyway, then you are a moron.

The press the One punch incident copped was massive. The outcry from the public about the incident was massive. There was always going to be a reaction to it. He just didnt expect the reaction to be so harsh.

Why would he think anyone would know what it meant? He didn't exactly announce it and It wasn't even the guy's initials.

Every player has letters on their strapping. How often is it even questioned what it is about?

Someone obviously knew. Thats why this is now another issue in a long list of issues. To answer your question, i cant remember a time one of the stars of a game who has had something, an arm band, strapping, something with initials on it, is on tv and the commentators and media, before, during, or after, havent mentioned what it is for or what it represents.

Look i agree the way the NRL have handled it is a bit rough. Targetting him when you got others like Hayne and other big name players consorting with crims on social media, and Semi throwing hands at his wife (alledgedly).

But with his track record, the scrutiny he was already under for on and off field behaviour, it was a poor choice, and he had to know the risk he was taking.

What is this track record you speak of?

This time, he committed no crime other than having letters written on his sleeve to this day no one expect Andrew knows what it stands for. Our media outlets offer speculation of what it means, and this was good enough to have him lynched.

The fact he has been made an example of, what abiut:

Current and ex Storm players - salary cap breaches? Surely they brought the game into disrepute?
Blake Ferguson- found guilty of indecent assault of a female.
Jake Friend - Charged with assault twice

And other such stories.

Wish the club n fifs would get together workshop some good answers and explanations then do a ratings interview with dik weidler or Alan jones, jones seems like a ok guy in regard to fifs position and the ASADA fiasco, reach out to the Kelly family (may have already happened) join them in a call to arms to stop street violence.. Use this stirred up hornets nest for something good other than dui and her mates to sell more papers. It's gone way to long now if fifs and sharks can be seen as being proactive it gives the NRL integrity unit and the haters less oxygen.
Get on it lyall

Did Andrew Johns play for Australia after it was known he was taking drugs?

Thurston's career took off after his invlovement in the Coffs Harbour incident and what he did was extremely severe. Should of gone to jail.

No ******** policy is ridiculous. There shouldnt be anyone playing in the Aussie team if this is the case. There is an ongoing investigation so shouldnt we wait to hear from the integrity unit before making the call. What about Dugan, Ferguson, Boyd, Inglis, Friend, and Thaiday. All of these players have had some incident in the past that has brought the game into disrepute - like Fifita.

Fifita should be backed to the hilt. He should be counselled and work in tandem with the NRL to right his wrong, not hung out to dry.

At the press conference, the NRL stated that they are investigating Fifita's links with a criminal as one of the reasons for his inability to get a test jersey (agreed not the only one). They also stated that they didnt want these distractions for players (ie: Semi Rad..) Mal got a test jersey and later Kangaroo coach when his brother committed a murder. ... and his brother just went back into jail again a few months ago. I wonder if that distracts him at all...

years ago women couldnt vote. Aboriginals were considered fauna not people. Drink driving was not an offense. The earth was flat.

Just because things in the past have been a certain way, doesnt mean there shouldnt be any change to make a better future.
