I'm not excusing fifita for a second but let's not forget that the fact he has mental issues is being lost in this story. He has issues that he clearly needs help with. ****ing ****ty thing to do, club was doing well on and off the field. Any positivity we had going into the game has now dissipated thanks to Andrew and David's stupidity.
Other players have received slaps on the wrist for being ********s in public but I fear the nrl and the club will make an example out of one of our best forwards at the most critical time. ****s sake. Never lucky.

We shouldn't blow things out of proportion, as the media are incapable of balanced reporting & sensationalise everything.
The way I read it:
Although administered by Junior League, A-Grade is an adult comp
Whilst David was acting inappropriately, it was for the right intentions (player safety)
Did the Ref/(unidentified) police officer 'inflame' the situation by filming the incident, instead of just reporting it?
In this age of social media, and in light of what happened with Carney, I don't blame Andrew coming to his brother's defence, to stop the filming.
Any threatening behaviour should not be tolerated, but as LG stated he'll wait for the Junior Leagues report, then act on that.

I read it the same way. I will await a report before making any actual judgements though.
I guess it looks like Tupou and Prior might be called up though, I assume we'll stand them down this game with the **** hitting the fan.
Probably wont stand them this game as there is not enough information. Get the report, investigate then decide what to do. Perhaps next game at the earliest if the feel suspension is warranted.
All things said and done though how dumb are some players for even putting themselves in that position? Even if it is blown out of proportion, how can they think things like this would go unnoticed?

I don't know why anyone is defending this kind of behaviour. The abuse of referees by bystanders at junior games has been out of hand for a long time by all accounts. It is an embarrassment to the game not just the club.

While fifitas are nothing but ****in idiots, this story will be blown way out of proportion. To satisfy the faithful. Hit andrew with a 10k fine, david with 5 and offer the little vagina wearing ref some therapy and a coarse in not being a skirt on the field. Done

Exactly.
The Fifatas brought this on by their behaviour and should have known better. Being recognisable in the media makes them a target because it sells papers.
Every move they make is scrutinised and if it is out of order it will be seized upon by the press.
When you earn more than $700,00 a season you need to behave properly. They have no-one to blame but themselves.
An apology, fine and anger management course should do the trick.
Lyall used to be a ref didn't he? He could make the announcement and say that he understands this from the ref's point of view, it's a very serious problem in this day and age which is why I'm taking this strong stance etc etc
