I was researching something else, and came across this on Wiki.

Ettingshausen effect

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ettingshausen Effect (named for Albert von Ettingshausen) is a thermoelectric (or thermomagnetic) phenomenon that affects electric current in a conductor when a magnetic field is present.

The result of the phenomenon is that a potential difference is induced normal to both the direction of the magnetic field and the current.

Alternately, a temperature gradient is induced. This effect is quantified by the Ettingshausen coefficient |P|, which is defined to be

26cba6b573555a2f89f3f955fea83784.png

where dT / dx is the temperature gradient that results from the y-component IY of an electric flux and the z-component BZ of a magnetic field.

The reverse process is known as the Nernst effect.

Could this explain the "ET stare"? :)

Who wouldn't mind another qualia ET phenomenon right about now ;)

I wouldn't mind Blake Ferguson to magically have the skills that ET once had during his prime. Would solve a lot of our back line problems.

When i was in year 4 I found out that my teacher was neighbours with ET, i gave her my jersey and she took it round to his house and he signed it,
Dear Otis
Best Wishes, Sharks forever!
Andrew Ettingshausen

He then took it to training and got, peach, healey, rogers, green, davidson and Nikau all to sign it. Looking into getting it framed at the moment. Great blokes and ill never let go of it.

Michael Guest and ET vow to come back

Michael Guest and ET vow to come back
Written by Alan Richardson

The Nickol Bay Sportfishing club and sponsors recently hosted a great evening with Michael Guest (Guesty) and Andrew Ettingshausen (ET).

Guesty and ET were in the region to do some filming for their fishing shows and so took the opportunity to host the free event that was open to club members and the public.

Michael Guest's (Guesty's) achievements include many international and Australian rally car champions with many victories and titles.

He is now the face of Pirtek and has his own successful fishing show ‘Fishing the Edge’, and is a contributor towards Australian fishing and boating journals and magazines.

Michael is also a regular on Andrew Ettingshausen's fishing show ‘Escape with ET.’

Michael and his wife Lisa also successfully co-ordinate the Pirtek Fishing challenge, which is Australia's only truly national fishing competition that aims to raise awareness and funds for the research of prostate cancer.

Andrew Ettingshausen or ET as he is known, is an Australian rugby league champion.

With 328 first grade games for the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks and representation at NSW state and 25 first class games with the Australian rugby league kangaroo's team, Andrew is one of the most respected players Australia has ever produced.

Since retiring from the game, ET has become a popular national fishing identity with his successful TV show ‘Escape with ET’, with an estimated audience on Foxtel and commercial channels in excess of 900, 000. ET tours Australia and overseas to do filming often with special guest presenter Michael Guest.

ET and Guesty were filming in the Shire of Roebourne area which included a tour of the impressive Rio Tinto Cape Lambert operation where they got to check out the tug boats and the port operations as special guests.

They also did filming of the Woodside NW Shelf Venture and were impressed at the scale of the projects in the region.

Michael and ET shared their experiences and presented a special demonstration to the crowd on tournament lure fishing for bream.

There were also sponsor give aways, door prizes and complimentary copies of Michaels popular ‘Fishing the Edge’ DVD which is also free on You Tube.

Both Michael and ET are passionate about fishing, getting the juniors into the sport and the conservation of fish stocks for the future.

Michael and ET were very impressed with the warm Pilbara welcome and the quality of the local fishing and fishers conservation efforts, and vowed to be back to do some more filming in the area.
A great time was had by all that attended.

The Nickol Bay Sportfishing Club sincerely thanks their partners Pirtek, JG Graphix Signs and Designs, Kteq Rentals, Karratha Panel and Paint, Avison Engineering, Liftmec, Karratha International Hotel, Rio Tinto Iron Ore Pilbara Communities, Steele Electrical, Adventure Sports, Cobra Marine, Auslec, The North West joint Venture, Woodside and the Hampton Harbour Boat and Sailing Club for their support of this community event.

Andrew Ettingshausen Fishing For Cronulla Coaching Role

Andrew Ettingshausen fishing for Cronulla coaching role

SHARKS icon Andrew Ettingshausen has held talks with Cronulla powerbrokers about returning to the club next season in a coaching capacity.

Still regarded as one of the smartest defensive thinkers in rugby league, ET has met with Sharks chairman Damien Irvine and spoken to coach Shane Flanagan about getting more involved with the club in the New Year.

Ettingshausen last helped the Sharks when Stuart Raper was coaching in the 2006 off-season - and the club responded by starting the season as the best defensive outfit in the premiership.

But his television commitments with his fishing adventure shows on Foxtel, Discovery and Channel Ten made it a difficult juggling act.

When Sport Confidential caught up with ET on the Hawkesbury River yesterday, the retired international was still just as passionate as ever about Cronulla.

"Obviously I'm keen to work with some of the players. I'd be more inclined to be involved with the defensive side of the game," Ettingshausen said.

Would be a nice contrast to joey johns. Would like to see him involved in attack as well, particularly our centres

Sounds good, surely the club will jump at this.

Furthermore, yeah I agree, it would be good to get Joey in there coaching even if we can only afford him irregularly, that way he can at least give them the basics to work on, and they can apply them without him there.

This story gets trotted out once every year. As much as I love the great Ettingshausen, I can't believe the papers keep publishing it.

Now I wish he would turn into Owen Cragie.

I remember a couple weeks ago, ET was on Fox sports news talking Four Nations and he mentioned that he would like to be involved with the club this season regulary. So it does sound like he is pretty keen.
