You generally need a 50% win rate + good for and against to make the finals.

Sometimes a 50% + 1 game win rate and still good for and against.

There's 24 games per team in a season so 12 wins is the minimum. 13 wins is better. 14 wins is almost guaranteed.

So we are 5 wins off a chance of scraping in, 6 wins off a good chance, and 7 wins off an almost guaranteed spot. And there's 14 games left.

but i set the standard low thinking it would take time for combinations to form. been pleasantly surprised.
