I always thought it during the dark times that the club being in the Shire and the area that it is that if the club got its act together off the field we'd have every player in the country busting the door down to get into the place and so it has proven to be the case.
You're not wrong. Fins up boys were talking about the best signings since 2010, and god damn we've done well in getting big players here.

Lewis, Maloney, Ennis, Hynes, SJ, Afb, Barba, Moylan, Dugan, McInnes, Finucane. All well in demand players at the time of their signing, and chose us over other clubs. Couldn't have dreamed of this at some of the low points.

Were they though? I don't think many clubs were falling over themselves to pay Dugan 900k or whatever it was.

Barba had a bad time at Brisbane, don't recall many clubs being after him?

I think Maloney came to us because we offered him three years?

May have been other factors in some sure, not saying it was purely to come to us. Dugan was an international and saints wanted to keep him. I can't remember exactly but I'd be shocked if Maloney and Barba didn't have other offers too.

If you want a laugh, go look at the Dogs/Tigs/Drags forums. Dogs and Tigs flipped on a dime from wanting him to thinking it's too much money once they missed out. Drags is almost sad with how sure they were he was coming and the meltdowns that followed.

On 2024, I'd be shocked if we can get him here. Warriors are a shot to win the comp this year, and that disappears without a quality front rower. We don't have anyone to give that would adequately fill that void. Also they would have no interest in releasing anyone to us early after we held Metcalf back for a year.

Sadly I agree. Unless there's something horrible that happens, like an immediate family member has a terminal illness in Sydney, I'd say there's pretty much no chance they'll release him for 2024. And nor should they really, I'd be pretty pissed if we let a key player go early unless there was a compelling reason.

Having a look at the Saints forum, it's fantastic haha.

I liked this one....Flanno has been deep sea fishing in a dinghy

I wouldn't ditch Will for RTS. I have no idea where RTS is at, last I heard he was likely to be centre for Warriors.
If there was any prospect of him coming here, which there isn't, I'd assume coaches would know a lot more about his recent football than I do.
What's he being paid compared to Will?

In a heartbeat, every day.

Don't know his salary. Will be 31 in June, still plenty of good footy ahead of him.

Could hardly sleep last night.
It all has sunk in
We have arrived, we have an identity
A Sharks brand, confidant, assured, professional
Ready to tear this Comp a new one
We are going places
I have made no secret in my belief Nicho isn't a halfback, but trust Coach Fitzgibbon if he says Nicho is a Hooker, wait that sounds wrong
But my point being I'd trust Coach Fitzgibbon alone with my naked wife.

Fair Enough ;)

Yep. Roosters offered 2 years we offered 3. Then after 1 year demanded a payrise and carried on. He said when he signed with us, all he wanted was the long term security. Love him for what he did in 2016, but i think hes a knob
