Tolman came on and played essentially the same game as Woods with a key distinction of not embarrassing himself or his team mates

This was just another one of those games that made me feel like looking forward to seeing the back of Aaron - something the opposition have the pleasure of week in week out
even on a bottom of the barrel contract you don't want that version of Woodsy in your team

Has been suspended more and has 9 try causes to his name to Woods 3
Both have 13 line break causes.
Tolman may not embarrass himself as much but if these stats are to be believed he is even more costly on the score board

Woods far worse for errors/penalties with a total of 18 to 6

How do their game minutes compare?

Publicly available information, you could tell me

Probably not favourably enough Tolmans 9 try causes to 3 looks much better. Or favourably for Tolmans running meters, PCMs, average hit ups or offloads.

Not trying to make a strong case for Woods here, just pointing out that neither of them is without weaknesses. If they are playing essentially the same game I don't think it is unfair to compare in a range of areas.

"Try causes" is an interesting stat, how do you attribute it?

It’s available through fox sports
Thinking it may come from the professional analysis data but unclear atm
They have a few more interesting stats like 1on1 tackles, efficient offloads etc

Should Woodsey be our Captain with Wade is out of action ?
Or is there anyone else ?
I know he's young , but any chance that Brailey could do the job , being on the field the whole 80 minutes ?

I don't like Woods as Captain but he has experience on our other players, cept Tolman who IMO sets a better example than Woods

a pot plant would show more talk and inspiration in the in-goal than Woods

didn't rate Gal that massive as a captain but looking at those that have followed he was comparatively brilliant

Brailey is an interesting shout and not without merit. It might force him out of his shell a bit and the extra responsibility have him step his game and leadership on the field up a bit. Has been around the team for years now

I would hope for similar results with Moylan but I think he has enough on his plate just getting his body and form right

Need a real Captains knock from the big fellah. Don't think we can go switching at this stage. Isn't he our most experienced in terms of games played? Need him to yell out "Take the 2" Several times on Friday night.

The last thing Brailey needs is that added pressure at this stage of his career while playing hooker in an inconsistent pack. Leave him be.

Fair enough , that's why I asked.
Just that Woodsy seems the Steven Bradbury of Captains .

If Tolman was starting I’d give it to him. Outside of him and Woods there just doesn’t appear to be any other viable options. I mean Woods isnt really but at least he has rep experience and has captained a team before. Not saying he’s a good captain, I’m just saying we’re not exactly spoilt for choice.

LOL.

Bradbury won a gold when everyone else fell over
What did Woods win? a captains challenge the other week...

Bradbury actually had a really tough journey to that Gold medal race over the years, he deserved some things to go his way and reward for all the effort and pain it took to get there
Woods career has faced all the resistance of a reclining sofa chair

Fifita has been a good leader and player for us when given the extra responsibility of the captaincy

he might only play 15 mins these days but he loves to shout and inspire from the bench but his voice box won't be right till McCinnes and Dale are here anyway

More he gets Captaincy because their isn't any others qualified yet ( by default )
Bradbury deserved Gold , but in the end , was because there wasn't others left standing in the final

You are being at bit hard on Woods mate (in relation to his career). You don't know how much effort his has put into training, recovery and rehab. The bloke plays in one of the toughest positions and has hardly missed a game through injury. That is no fluke.
