i dunno if playing in the day is solely responsibile for promoting better attacking footy, but personally i reckon the crowd gets more into it. i mean, during the day there just seems to be a better atmosphere around the ground than when its played at night, but dont get me wrong, and good night game with a packed toyota park is one of the best nights out ud ever come across (unless sharks lose), but the atmosphere is a lot more calm during the day. for instance, i woulda come home satisfied on sunday if the sharks had lost that game, because it was good fun just being out there, which is a feeling that i would never get on a saturday night. take for example the tigers game the other week, altho we lost, it was a great day for football and i came away satisfied that i witnessed a great game of football.
i dont know if what i've said thus far has made much sense, but i tend to think that there is more pressure on the sharks to win at home on a saturday night. to me (as a supporter), the idea of going out on a saturday night is to have fun, and it becomes very dissatisfying when they lose, hence ruining your saturday night.
maybe there's less pressure on the players when they play a sunday arvo game... i dunno
