HB was very emphatic about winning last week and was right. I'll have to take a closer look at the raiders form, as the 2 from 8 at home surprised me.
I must have been focusing on too many Blake Austin highlights.

I had a look at our draw last night and went through the ladder predictor on the NRL website (not that i ever get near 8 right per week)
But in saying that, there are so many teams around us that are going to beat each other and drop games (us included in that)... that we definitely are in with a good shot at making the 8.
If we simply win all of our home games i believe we make the 8. Not that they are the easiest games with NQ + Manly amongst that.
I think we finish 8th as well.
But, this is Cronulla. Take nothing for granted and expect disappointment and you'll be in the right head space come Week 1 of the finals when we aren't there.

I read a predictor i think it was NRL website this morning, had us finishing 11, but what I found more baffling grand final cows (get that) v Bulldogs.. Still rekon we finish 8 or 9...

Not now mate no. It's unfortunate and would love to have gone but neither my wife or I can get Friday off to go down early and we've been invited to an early breakfast on Sunday morning to celebrate a good friend's birthday. I'll have to watch it live on my iPad.
I'm not as confident as you are HB. I know we played in ice cold conditions against the Dragons but it's always freezing down there. They've got a good pack and plenty of points in them. Our only chance is to defend like hell and hope that Canberra's completion rate is bad. To do that we've got to bustle them, MOVE UP IN DEFENCE and make them do things quicker than they want to.
If we can keep Austin quiet that will help but it won't extinguish their chances fully.
I'm always hopeful but I just don't think the grind will work in this game.

There has been a few! The Dogs game is on Sunday as well!
Destiny is in our hands. We play all the teams who share our points - Bulldogs, Warriors and Melb so if we are good enough there is no reason we cant finish 5th or 6th and enjoy a home semi. The next two weeks we will know.
