and i'll go further. I'm spiteful of any Sharks player who gets injured during Origin after making themselves available for selection, when they have a clear option to do the best thing by the club. the club who pays their salary.

We only have to play one game without our origin stars and that's against the broncos in qld
We got this

Its not the weeks 'without'. What about the few days after Origin, Gal backing up. he either sits out, or plays in recovery mode. Either way, it stuffs us.

IMO its lucky he got injured now, cos they will pretty much have to throw Peachey in (1 would hope) and then come origin time, if the situation arises where we want to rest Gal. We know exactly what the understudy can do

Bloody Hell, is anyone else getting a hammering from their non-Sharks supporting mates?

Common theme I'm copping is "That's convenient".

Ask the question though - would he be back for a club game that same week?

You know the answer, and it's everything that's wrong with Origin.

I hope he misses an origin game ...I don't think he need the wear and tear on his body !

Catch 22 in its good for the club to have rep players but better for the club to have them fit an healthy for the end of the season !!

Gal above most other players needs to be fit an healthy for us come season end .. Hope he sits out for a few weeks ....

i wish i had a physio and full blown professional recovery methods. i did a severe grade 2 MCL early this year and it took me 12 weeks before i was able to ride a skateboard again and i STILL have nights where this weird pain wakes me up.

I agree. Gallen is great, possibly the greatest Sharks player ever, but we need to learn how to win without him, and prepare for the time when he isn't here.

He is neither of those things and the team actually looked better in parts today without him there. Take note Gal

Love Gal

At the same time I'm hoping that maybe after he comes back from injury Lewis retains his captaincy role - or at least is kept on as co-captain

Could be back for Friday...The inspirational Blues captain was greeted with the positive news that he has suffered a medial ligament strain, without any rupture.

Forced from the field after just two minutes in yesterday's clash with the Knights, Gallen had scans on his knee late last night before receiving the results this morning.

The scans revealed the medial ligament was intact.

A tear would have ruled the Cronulla captain out for between 4-6 weeks.

Instead, the Sharks star is now planning to work around the clock with physiotherapy and treatment on his knee in a bid to be fit for this Friday night's clash with the Wests Tigers.
