He had a little bit of a point when it comes to it is all well and good for SJ to tear up weaker teams, but you are supposed to score that game as a standalone.
No way SJ wasn't top 3 Sharks player from that game as a standalone. Brailey was pretty good for 52 minutes but I can't say he was better than Johnson. Everyone bar 1 in this thread has voted SJ for 3 I think (ironically they gave Brailey the 3)
I'm still torn who to give my 1 vote to but Johnson has my 3 too

it wasnt cronk

they dont publish the judges after ruan sims copped it big time last year

the other solution to that problem would be just get more reliable judges, but I guess not publishing them is easier.

SJ has 56% of the fan vote on the sharks members player of the week too so seems a pretty solid consensus from the non experts he was worth a point

It’s all good for cooper- he played in star studded teams under a super coach his whole career- this is the strongest side Sj has ever played in.
I found the whole thing a bit weird and premeditated tbh- he carried on before the game how Sj had to step up then he carves up and cronk still gives it to him.
It was all a bit weird but made headlines so I guess it done it’s job.

I'm gunna vote
3 Johnson
2 Rudolf
1 Mulitalo

for winger I was torn between Ronnie and Sione but Ronnie had 3 line break and first game back
Also would have happily given 1 point to Woods or BHU as they both went really well too
But Rudolf gets 2 (one for each error) for standing up to a pack that was trying to hurt him and still making big meters

even the votes not being Coopers aside he still said he wants to see that level from Johnson against stronger teams. I do wonder how many games Cooper has played where his team were all losing their individual battles but he was still a stand out, if it was easier you could look for something like games he lost by say 20+ points and he still got Dally M votes

Would make sense if it were Cronk. He was pretending not to be salty aafter SJ's interview, where SJ said he didn't really listen to Cronk's comments. But really, Cronk was pretty salty.

They should have a panel of 3 judges who come to a 3,2,1 score. And they do every game of the season. That way it'll be consistent.

SJ has way more social media followers than most other Sharks to, who'd be way more active online. Not sure I'd read too much into the fan votes mate

Did he share it via his social media?

Not saying if he has more votes there it must be true, just saying it's another point of data that supports our votes here and a lot of comments also on places like reddit that feel like he should have got a Dally M vote.
If anything the Sharks one actually has an award from the club so it counts for more than what we think in the end

Ridiculous Johnson not getting any points.

Look at all our votes and he is top in nearly every one! Blokes on a footy forum also have a fair idea about the game. It’s not like a poll on facebook.

I can’t believe he didn’t get on the vote.

Just saying that his groupies (what was it, 3x more than any other Shark?) are probably digitally savvy and pretty active, so I don't think sharing it would matter if it's a fan vote. You know, like how Guy Sebastian's brother wins The Voice. Like that.

It's not going to account for social media fans in their vote though, I doubt after flogging the Warriors too many kiwis went out of their way to vote SJ Sharks man of the match anyway. I'd assume most of the voters are people who have the club on social media and would be voting as a Sharks fan not a Shaun fan.

The perceived value of their poll doesn't change the fact that it supports how we have also voted and not the Dally M votes.

CrazyMatt should just run the damn thing. Having a larger panel and then averaging the score out afterwards seems like the go. Individuals opinions are always going to be subjective. Some people might think that halves performances are put down down to the efforts of the forwards, while others might just look at the stats.

RESULTS FOR THIS ROUND:

Johnson: 95 (3 points)
Rudolf: 39 (2 points)
Hamlin-Uele: 16 (1 point)
Mulitalo: 12
Katoa: 11
Woods: 10
Brailey: 6
Ramien: 1
Graham: 1
Kennedy: 1

Johnson enjoys a near perfect round with maximum points from all but one voter. Incredible round for him. Toby waaaay back in 2nd but he is miles in front of the pack with Big Ham taking out third.
