Just seen we got 3 games before the bye.

1 home game in that against the storm.

We need to win 2/3 here. Tough ask but I think we can achieve that considering 2 games are in Sydney and 1 is in Gosford.

After that our next 2 games after the bye are at home so we’ve basically got the next 6-7 weeks without doing any travel.

A few Sharks on the list

Was just having a lovely lunch at Sharks at Kareela with my family, sitting at a nice table overlooking the 18th green.

I suddenly noticed at the table next to us was Darren Mooney and an unidentified fellow with him. They had laptops, pads, pencils etc so I gather it was a lunch meeting of sorts.

The other fellow looked familiar but I couldn’t quite place him. It was hard to hear what they were saying without being a sticky beak but I did hear some players mentioned like Dykes, Ison and Max Bradbury.

I heard the other fellow ask Mooney about the fullback role and who plays there if Will goes down but I couldn’t hear his response.

I could hear them both talking about other clubs, salaries (550 over 2 was the phrase I heard) and they were even talking about DCE to the chooks and what happens with Sandon Smith.

I guess this guy could have been a player manager but I’m not 100% sure. I must admit I was surprised they had this conversation out in the open but I must admit the club was pretty empty and the talk could be quite innocent.

I did manage to get a quick snap, again without making it obvious and I’ve attached it here. This is the fellow Moons was talking to. Anyone recognise him?

Not sure on him. You’re a bit too much of a nosy prick though. Why photograph and report on 2 men having private discussions? We have all praised the club for how tight their ship is and things not getting out to the media until the club is ready. Loose lips sink ships, Chadley. But beyond football, you just don’t do that mate. What if someone else come on here and said they were having a lovely lunch at Kareela when they heard you discussing something over lunch with your family and putting up snapshots?

TBF @Capital_Shark , DCE to Roosters is already a hot topic and the follow on from that is “what happens with Sandon Smith” anyway.
Will would be in any Sharks fan convo at the moment and who would take his spot if injured. We have all speculated that in here (and even his replacement in recent times).
Dropping names of Jets players without context also means naughty.
So he hasn’t exactly divulged anything that isn’t already out there or speculation that hasn’t already been mentioned in here or by the media.
But, had he said “overheard that the Sharks are making a play for [enter top-line player here] for X years @ $XXXX (let’s say AFB last year) then, 100% agree. Don’t share it.
The photo. Well, that’s just the age we live in unfortunately. I don’t like it and wouldn’t do it, but People take pics of “known people” and share them now….

The last two games (Parra and Manly) were real danger games for us for the season.

Parra had Moses back, coming off a bye and had some momentum.

Manly had Turbo back, coming off a bye and playing at home.

Having these wins really takes some pressure off this week V the Storm.

Sure, I want the win and will be dissapointed if we don't, but at least we are not desperate for the points to stay in the hunt for the 8.
