I hope I’m wrong but I think we are gunna get a reminder how our pack, go forward was before AFB arrived.
Missing experienced players on the bench that bring impact and can change a game like Jack Williams and Royce Hunt

Apart from Teddy earning the backend of his big million dollar contracts, I can’t think of any Roosters that would be on that sort of money either.
Walker on a million from next season apparently.

Cheese and Crichton on 800k+

Nicho and AFB Definitely on a million with us. The rest of our squad is a little more balanced, but we have a deep roster. Trindall was listed at $830,000 on 100% Footy.

There is a salary cap except for the Roosters, Broncos, and possibly the Bulldogs.

And to me it looks like we don’t get any 3rd party agreements.

This is the bigger issue

The Broncos have all of QLD to draw 3rd party deals (they are the premium QLD club and the others don’t get a foot in the door)

The Roosters are very very very well connected (it always amazes me how they had so many top quality players on their list but register a low 3rd party total. There had to have been some creative accounting there).

Dogs? Really not sure how they are managing their cap space.
They have recruited some high value players but also get good value out of middle of the road players.

So the Broncos and the Roosters are organisations that have better connections and business relationships than others. They can offer their players more options and opportunities outside of football. If the Titans or Dolphins were the better business option they would get more of their foot in the door.

I don’t even know how people are questioning the Bulldogs salary cap. People were laughing at their recruitment of “utilities” a while ago, now they are questioning the legitimacy of it. Outside of Kikau, Burton and Crichton – who are all on less than a million – who else would be chewing up big money?

Tall poppy syndrome. Don’t get bitter, get better.

I agree. especially about the dogs.
im not sure they are over (hence my ”?”) and comment about getting good value from middle of the road.

Broncos do still seem to be the go to for QLD businesses
but yes, the others need to be better at it (but at the moment and historically, the Broncos have been the go to and main beneficiaries)

Roosters is always a mystery
They have had very strong rosters (better than most) but report little 3rd parties AND
still stay under the cap. At least there is transparency with the Broncos and their 3rd party deals.the only way I can see the Roosters (of past seasons) being under, was for players taking massive unders.
Way less than what the NRL themselves would have valued them.
