Assuming this game is around 1-2 March..,,

From a very quick search, it looks like return flights to LA would be from about $1100 (Hawaiian) to $2500 (Qantas). Then got to get to Vegas

Somewhere mid range like the Luxor about $250 a night. Hilton at Resorts World is $500 a night.

All adds up quickly.

Is anyone here planning to go?

Nope. Apart from the fact America is a **** place to go and the money I'd be forking out, the varicose veins in my legs would not last the 14 hour plane flight. So it's a no from me.

Happy for the Sharks to go, but I'll be watching it back here in Oz on the TV.

How did veins go watching the Sharks over the last month? Hope you wear compression leggings during the match!

Ha I agree about the flight, not about the destination!

I think even 8 months is not a lot of lead time for such a big trip though, in terms of trying to get a group to go

Pretty cheap to rent a car to get from LA to Vegas, not a long drive.

You can get cheap accommodation there for sure, no way you need to spend hundreds a night.

Disagree with you @Sir Chadley, the US is a great place to visit.

Unfortunately America has fallen off the bucket list for me and missus. I went at 17, she hasn't been, but the country just keeps getting less attractive by the year - especially when there are other destinations for cheaper.

Unless I win some free flights some how I don't think it's happening haha

Not well, they weren't varicose 6 weeks ago.

Fair chance I'll go as there is a conference I generally attend around that time.

Agree with Bort and bucketlist.

I've gone many times, and the wife not as many but still probably a dozen for her. She flat our refuses to go back and I now look for excuses not to go.

Just gets crazier and nastier each visit, and the $ doesn't help.

As long as I am not 30,000 feet in the air and taking my blood thinners I'm fine no matter how we are playing. :)

I didn't mind it when I went as a kid in 1975 and then as an adult in 1990 but the place is so wacko now I can't find enough reasons to go. For starters, when we were talking about going to Disneyland, my young fellow said he'd rather go to the one in Tokyo or Paris rather than go to LA.

I haven't been for 10 years now, so my memories are still fairly rosy.

Is it mainly things like crime/drugs/homelessness etc? Or the political side of things...

We flew from lax to Vegas and it was super cheap and quick. Vegas though I wouldn't want to spend too long there. We spent three days and that was more than enough. Can vouch for the buffet at Caesars palace though.

Political. I try and avoid but you go to bars etc and it comes up a lot more often and just about always ends in a shouting match.

Don't remember it happening often before but happens more and more often.

Plus the homelessness is off the walls in some parts, but that is also a function of where work takes me like Philly.

We took our kids near 15 years ago. Don't know that I'd bother now as the prices are getting ridiculous and you really need to stay at one of their over priced resorts to get the perks like early entry to get through everything now.

Vegas is a good stepping off point for some wonderful places around like Zion canyon. People often skip this but for mine it is better than the Grand Canyon, though if you haven't seen the GC then it is a must do.

I'm hoping to get tickets in the lottery for The Wave. Decent drive from Vegas but apparently pretty special.

If you go, like the great outdoors and have some time a nice loop is down to Sedona, up to Grand Canyon, Antelope canyon, Bryce NP, Zion then back to Vegas. Even chuck in Meteor crater and Monument valley

Rotate the teams to meet in magic round and work out a flat amount for all 4 teams to use 1 home / 1 away all walk away with the same deal.
