Who the **** gave SBW a media gig on Australian TV to begin with? And on Rugby League. He was a part-time Rugby League player who got by on physical talent (who knows how long that would have lasted had he been a full-time Rugby League player). If he does have any amazing insight into the game he is unable to articulate it. At least Gal has some hard man unpopular opinions and the credentials to back that up.

I'd much rather Fox Sports have everything... and I'd cop them becoming a little flat. At the moment, multiple streaming platforms having multiple sports is a nightmare and just drives the cost up.
I imagine if Fox lose NRL they'll be in plenty of trouble (so they'll happily pay through the teeth and up subscription fees).

A lot of people forget the role he played in Penrith’s dynasty that we’re all currently in. He put the first pieces in place.
Yeah I definitely don't want multiple streaming services. A bit of competition for the main broadcast rights can't hurt though.
In saying that, agree that Fox can't afford to lose it.
They need to make the next deal include mandatory 4k coverage for SOO and finals though. Ch9 need to pick their game up in that department. If they can't broadcast in 4k then they shouldn't have exclusive rights over these games.

Absolutely I do not want NRL spread across multiple platforms. Movies and TV shows are one thing but I wouldn’t know where to begin pirating live sport!

Yep. He will do something similar with the Bulldogs as well. Not saying they will have success on the scale Penrith have but they will be a strong sustainable club with a factory line of players who play ‘Bulldog Football’.

As a football fan in this country, I can vouch for that. In Australia you need about four different streaming services to be able to watch all the top football plus the local product.
Optus Sports: English Premier League
Stan Sports: Champions League/Europa League
Paramount plus: A-League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, FFA Cup, Asian Champions League.
BeIN Sports: La Liga, Serie A, SPL.
This is the trend sport is going in and someone has to do something about it because it will end up being a disaster for the average sports fan.

This is the problem with ALL viewing content, sport or otherwise.
The entire model is wrong. Too many leeches between the people that film stiff and the people that screen stuff...

Have a work trip end of March and will be there that weekend.
A couple of the ladies that I work with want to go to an NRL game so was looking to get them to the Sharks game
Otherwise will have to go to a “neutral” game.
