Ignoring the backs and Brailey this year... and going with more detail for the forwards.
This game was a big example of how the Sharks style of play is supposed to work. Lots of work coming out of the 20-30m area so that the higher-minute middles can save their energy for defence. We know what we've got in our back 5.
Summary of this one for the graph-challenged:
- Despite the errors, Royce was still the most heavily involved in attack
- Jack Williams is an animal. Heavy involvement in attack and defence, and is un-rivalled in his ability to win the tackle
- Huge effort from Kaufusi defensively. Lead all middles in BiP. Played 21 minutes on defence and just 11 with the ball (BiH).
- McInnes was a beast in his second stint.
- Toby near-perfect in this one. Didn't miss a tackle, was involved in all parts of the field, and won the ruck fairly consistently
- Hazelton heavily involved on both sides of the ball, but does get slowed down in the ruck fairly often
- Hunt (3 errors, 1 set restart) and Trindall (3 penalties) and Nikora (2 penalties) the main culprits for the negative plays.
