So let's get back to Sunday's game. Even with Tricky out I still think we have way more in attack, defence and experience to beat the Raiders. Just hoping this incident hasn't derailed our focus on winning games and everyone is still 100% committed.

I think the only thing we have to worry about is the Raiders home ground advantage. Peter Gough is our referee and while I don't mind him, he can be swayed by home crowds more than most refs.

Their spine is very inexperienced with Chevy Stewart and Kaeo Weekes alongside Strange and Levi so if we can keep Tapine and Papalii quiet we can win this one well.

Put Levi down for a barge over try for a final score of sharks 40 Raiders 6.

Yeah we lose Trindall, but them losing Fogarty is a lot more significant.

If our forwards aim up, we should be hard to beat.

Boy you've got a long memory HB!

Going back to your comments regarding Puru Chad; I certainly agree he isn't ready for nrl yet but I think he's worth continuing to develop long-term, at the very least on a jets deal like Will and Iro in the past.

Halves should be given longer time frames to develop imo, Fogarty and Hynes prime examples.

Done. Joshy Schuster let's go!

As much as I consider him surplus to our requirements, bringing him in to work with Wade on an edge and Dale on standards would probably do wonders for him

Agree
He's not banging down the door by any means but at 22 there are plenty of year for him to keep improving.

Trindalls first year starting in run on side, 24 turning 25
Fogarty, 2 games in 2017 when he was 23, not a starter until 26.

Dan Atkinson one year older than Puru, 18 months younger than Trindall, getting an injury forced look in.

No reason Puru couldn't be a good 3rd choice half or maybe even cheap starter somewhere 2 or 3 years from now with plenty of footy ahead of him. Brad Schneider for example a year older and filling the role of Penrith #3 half fine.

31 end of this year - was a QCup standout for a long time but just wasn't quite cracking NRL. Eventually everything came together enough for him with more experience and he came in a very solid 7.
You wouldn't say now he doesn't belong in the NRL but when he was 22 (like Puru is) he was still 4 years away from regular NRL

You would think behind closed doors Fitzy would have fired a stern warning shot across the bow to the squad re standards on and off the field.

This is a wake up call that you can't drop your standards....ever, not even for one night after a huge win.

I'm looking forward to seeing our team respond.

The issue for him is attitude. He has had it all handed to him and didn't have to work. If he can sort that and keep his weight in check I think there's a talented player there. He would have killed it through the 2000s.

Worth a reminder of how much footy these young guys missed over the covid period too. Development seems to be much later for a lot of that crop in the 20-24 age bracket.

Yeah this doesn't get mentioned enough in these discussions

As much as i agree with most of the Comments on Schuster the Rooster, he has had injuries, no pre season etc.Tough ask to be 2 mths behind the team fitness wise early season. I think he can come good. Problem is he now getting paid $200k is it pa( for 3 yrs) , to potentially bludge further with?. Insane! Imho Manly Very lucky they only gonna have est $250k ish pa counted in their cap from that, for the next 3 yrs.
