From a 10-20 minute bench middle impact perspective I'd definitely go Tuks

I think Hunt over Tuks, while I expected it anyway, also makes more sense if we are carrying an edge player on bench. Burns could 'fill in' into middle if needed but Hunt can play much bigger minutes than Tuks.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Burns start still and Williams revert to bench. See how Burns is going and if well let Williams do his first stint in the middle. Can do his second stint on edge if Burns is falling off a bit as fatigue sets in.
You're probably right .
I'd just like to see Williams in action on an edge for a full 80 to see how he goes and for Tuks to get another 10-15 minutes first grade experience off the bench .

Williams is the versatility though. If we have Tuks over burns and one of our backs or edge back rowers get injured, we'd end up with McInnes or a prop defending on the edge.

Is Uele still injured or is he being left out in general if he's fit now? Considering this is already Rd 3 he must be injured a bit longer then what everyone thought? You'd think he'd come onto the extended bench at least when he's officially ruled fit?

Don’t you think he can increase his minutes as he gains match fitness? I have never seen Burns, does he have the same impact as Tuks?

Tuks has been named to start for Newtown, whilst short burst of first grade will be good for him, personally I think playing 40-50 consistent minutes for jets every week will benefit club and player more.

I think club has learnt lessons from bringing him back under done in the past and are just being cautious.

Getting off to a perfect start could play in to that mindset as well.

Fair enough, I see that point in saying they are probably just being cautious with him. We'd think when they both are completely confident that he's ready to come back they'd at least put him on the extended bench. I don't think they'd give him a week or 2 in NSW Cup with the Jets.

You never know. I always thought you never bring seasoned players back through the lower grades like in years gone by. But the Roosters did it recently with JWH, so it could happen.

@BurgoShark, do the same rules apply for NSW Cup in naming teams? Can someone not named there or in the NRL top 23, suddenly lace up the boots at the last minute and play For the Jets?

JWH was suspended, they played him in reserve grade.the second week of round 1 when the Roosters weren't playing.

Nope. Those rules don’t apply.

Player has to be registered/eligible and at least 18. Other than that the team named on Tuesday is just a guess.

Only relavant rule across the comps is that players can’t start an NRL game and then play NSW Cup after that. All other scenarios are permitted. E.g. start cup then play NRL, or bench in NRL then play Cup.

Sir Chad as you would know from your extensive reading that " Many a true word has been spoken in jest ". Nicho made a crack when calling Bingo numbers that BHU would return soon , via Newtown 🤣 .

I think the short bursts of first grade are good because they give him an understanding of what's required at that level and gives him the confidence he has what it takes, and just needs to apply it to NSW Cup.

Expectation is he goes back and destroys it in NSW for when the next opportunity comes, and knowing our middles it won't be long
