We defended very well tonight, considering how much ball the Warriors had compared to us shows how good our defence was compared to last season.

We didn't have much possession down their end but we still scored 3 tries which was good too cwompared to their amount of chances they had down our end.

Up up Cronulla! Andrew Webster their coach went on like a bit of a sore loser during their press conference.

That was a physically brutal game, very much like a finals game.

Despite the Warriors having roughly 82% possession in the 1st half at one stage, for the Sharks to concede only 12 with Warriors amount of possession was a superb effort. The whole team put their bodies on the line under immense pressure, and the referee helped the Warriors as much as he could, even at the end of the game AFB knee'd the ball out (accidentally on purpose of course), and as far as I am concerned 4 blokes in a tackle one with his arm around the ball all through the tackle not called a strip, complete manure.

A really magnificent win and should be a big confidence builder.

That was some unreal defense under a huge weight of possession. If we can do that all year the attack and handling will come.
Like I said about our trials scoring points isn't a problem. We had like 4 cracks in their 20 & scored 3 with another stopped half a metre from scoring. Hold the ball we're a ****en weapon.

Yep solid is best I can give him

Won’t hold the DWZ high shot against him, one kick in particular we really needed an extra 10 or 20 he should have been capable of, but in the scheme of things that was pretty minimal
Reckon he saved 2 possible tries getting to ground the ball before anyone else.

Very good performance and a well deserve win to boot. Pretty unexpected given the Warriors' onslaught in the first 20. The effort in defense was enormous throughout the game despite some early misses.
A lot to like for a first round game.
I don't think Iro's going to get a lot of first grade playing time if Talakai and Mulitalo stay healthy.
Hunt and Finucane (who looked really rusty) are the only two players who had a rather disappointing outing, I reckon.

Very impressed with our ability to chip away at it after that poor start.

Going into half time, depsite a 63/37 possession share, we probably had the better overall stats (equal missed tackles but us defending 5 or 6 more sets) and equal line breaks.

Even though a 12 point come back isnt anything to get overly excited about, in the context of where we were last year ill take it.

Knocked a top 4 side off at home, who were heavy favourites. Hopefully that starts to build some confidence in the boys.

Was scrappy at times, but overall a ****in good showing

Have woken up this morning still not believing we won that game last night. An absolutely monumental effort that I hope hasn’t taken some wind out of our sails for next week. But we have a 7 day turnaround so all should be good. I think Sifa and Ronnie were the only two injury concerns but looks like they’ll be ok.

About to head down to my son’s last cricket day for the season, we’re defending 153 in a 50 over game against the comp leaders. Not an easy task. While waiting I’m watching the golf and watching Min Woo Lee struggle a bit in the Arnold Palmer invitational. He’s only 4 off the lead but missing easy birdie opportunities.

Goodness me, doesn’t he know the Sharks won last night!!

One thing I noticed alot during the game (even after the first 20 mins when we were on the back foot) we quite often had players on the ground next to the ruck when the Warriors were playing the ball.

Not sure if it's a wrestle thing (or lack thereof) or if we are consciously not wanted to give away six agains for holding down etc so are rolling off early.

I finally managed to watch the extended highlights & was able to listen with commentary, referees & player voices considering where I watched it last night wasn't on volume. That commentary during the game was ridiculous probably pleased I didn't hear it, then on Warriors 3rd potential try that was awarded a penalty for Mulitalo tackling Dalline in mid air, yes it was a penalty but for Dalline & Tohu calling for him to actually be sent off to the referee was just ridiculous. LOL to that whinging & complaint by Tohu.
