We lost fair and square. I haven't scrolled back through, and its probably been said but anyone else think the Pamfers were inside the 10, rushing up a fair bit of the game?. We had no time/ space, their linespeed was good but a fair bit of the time i thought they were at least a metre offside.
Yep. Something we need to learn to do I'm these games - read and adjust to how the refis officiating

Same as the wrestle - we were rolling off quick, resulting in no markers a lot of times.

These are little nuances in playing big game / finals football. We will only get better with more high intensity games.

They were a meter offside the first tap we took near start of the game

Their middle does have probably the best linespeed in the game though, regardless of also finding a head start here and there.
That actually makes it easier for them to go early. Ref thinks, 'offside? nah they have the best linespeed sure it's fine'

One stage it was last and someone, I think Tommy from memory, was in tackle by themselves and jumped straight up. Even in a standard NRL had much longer he could have milked on last.

An experience thing for our side in general, but also to learn how to play big games.

Finals footy mate. They just get that the refs won't blow certain penalties

So Annesley has come out and said bunker got the call wrong of Sifa being obstructed.

Well done Ivan, your whinging has paid off again.

Mind you, it's easy to admit a ruling was wrong when the team won anyway.

I strongly doubt Annesley would have done the same thing if it determined who went through to the GF.

IMG_9048.pngPlayer receiving the ball doesn’t run behind his own player? His own player who instigates contact by running outside in directly into Talakai?

Also the idea Talakai can’t impact the outcome of not obstructed appears false. If lead runner cuts inside him and doesn’t obstruct he pressures player catching ball which allows Katoa to stay on his man instead of coming in.

No chance he would have

Looked like a clear cut obstruction to me and still does. Garner ran straight at Sifa. He didn't run his line perfectly and the try was rightfully taken away.
Not surprised one bit by the ruling though. A good timely whinge by Cleary. And I'm sure they'll use the same play on Sunday.

Yep. Now they are adding more grey by saying the bunker got it wrong.

Dear oh dear...

Yep soon as it happened I walked off to get a beer
Missus said ‘can’t bear to watch the relay’ and I said ‘nah that’s a no try it won’t get awarded. I don’t need to replay’

And I stand by it

Chris Butler was probably channelling his inner Fiddy after Ivan spray and then Annesley calling him out too

That’s why only 3 teams have won the comp in a long while. They have experience playing under the different set of rules. It’s as if nrl sides have to do an apprenticeship in finals footy before they can win one. In fact they should write a rule book called “finals footy”.

And like I said in an earlier post our guys have spent 30+ weeks training for one speed, even under supervision of NRL refs.
It’s not easy at all to just flip a switch to play at a different pace.
Can say they need to realise or coach need to tell them but under fatigue it’s very easy to revert to the usual pacing and patterns.
Only way to change it is experience.
We’ll be better for it.
