I like the look of the side. I think it works well with the bigger bench. Still not sold on Moylan, but happy to see the Nut be given a crack and see how Royce and BHU go as starting props.

Bright side: Roosters have been playing ****. The Butcher brothers in particular aren't playing well so hopefully that eases the pressure on our halves in defense etc etc. Cheese has also been hit and miss so far, and if he tries too hard and tires they have to bring on Turpin.

But realistically Teddy is due for a big game. It's going to be a little scary through the middle as well on our line. Brailey has to find some form.

Imagine having relief options at hooker and actually using them - Robinson is a mad man

Last years Roosters game where they smashed us was a line in the sand game for us, we improved significantly and dont think we lost at him till the Cowboys game.

Hoping they use the last time we played them as extra motivation, thought that absolute choke against the Warriors should be enough. Still fuming about that game.

The majority of games after that Roosters one were against much weaker opposition although belting the Storm at home was glorious

I question if there is a line in the sand though, one long enough to last more than part of a season anyway. It should have been the finals series last year...

They talk about motivation, wanting to improve/learn from tough games ect but where is that in the games when and where we really need it? Where is the leadership and accountability when we are dropping balls and missing tackles, giving away repeat sets and penalties?

When things start going off script or they gotta face some adversity it seems they fall back into old patterns and habits like it's muscle memory.

This is what happens when you take too long to sort out festering and/or legacy issues - they tend to become ingrained and almost accepted (even if they are not desired) and unfortunately it has become part of the modern Sharks DNA, after Sticky & Flanno did good work to build us a tough style and culture and both those coaches alot of the time had some inferior squads to this one.

NRL is a tough comp, losses are inevitable no matter who you are but we certainly don't do ourselves favors alot of the time

I believe the players when they say they want to win the comp I'm just not sure if they are willing to do what it takes. They need to start with a physical Roosters side this weekend. Please prove me wrong Sharkies.

Not much excitement for this game it seems.

Whether a fan sees that Warriors game as choking or a gritty team simply getting the better of us over 80 mins in the rain (or bit of both) I think it's fair to say alot of Sharks fans are probably still feeling a bit deflated and down on confidence and really starting to question where this team is at and what it's about

Even a win here won't get us back towards the top of the table and it certainty won't get us 2 points against the Warriors back but we really just need to play the long game from here from a top 8/top 4 point of view and start over.

Its early days as far as the season is concerned and we have a couple wins in the bank so we are still in touch for now.
But if we don't sort certain things out it's gunna feel like long days if you know what I mean

Is it crazy to think that after a new coach, new players and what 4 years our hope of beating the roosters have not improved at all ?

I would’ve thought by now we should be counting ourselves ready to win these games but that’s not the case

Bit disappointing

Other than our attack that has come along in leaps and bounds (literally) the other aspects of our game and mentality just have not changed that much and you need those to battle it out with the likes of the Roosters. When we beat them in 2016 or whenever we were aggressive.

You can't be passive against teams like them they will walk all over and through you even if they are quite capable of falling to pieces as we have seen in the past if they click and are confident and we do nothing to unsettle that it's usually good night

It is disappointing. and frustrating because it is not clear what we are doing to address it

We actually have a mounting number of teams having it over of us - Brissy, Raiders, Panthers, Roosters, (Souths to an extent)

That isn't good when you consider while you may not have to beat every club and win every week to win a GF there is a very good chance we would meet one of these teams in a must win finals game (except Raiders lol)

That’s because we try and beat points with points.

That's generally how you win a game but yea I know what you mean

I’ll be going out there with my boy. Don’t care if I think we’ll lose or win, I just love going out there and watching the game live.
At this stage, no rain forecast so it should be a good track.
Yes, they number better than us in most, if not all positions. Teddy is back and you just know he’ll be up to play well.

JWH, Cheese, Radley form the basis of a great pack and we have to play out of our skin to win this one.

I remember going to a game once against the Storm where we had zero chance of winning. They had Smith, Cronk, Slater and Inglis all playing and yet we won by a couple of points. Not saying it’ll happen again but there’s always a chance no matter how slim.
nice memory, but showing your age

inglis wants a storm player that year
