I’ve just got back from the game after a rain soaked walk along Captain Cook Drive back to our car. I can still feel the squelching on my shoes and walked along absolutely pouring rain to the Mrs complaining about being squashed in her seat during the game and squashed under the umbrella walking with me. Finally reached our car after what seemed an eternity.

I’m sitting here at the moment, cooking some sausages on the BBQ trying to figure out how the hell we lost that game. Up 20 nil at one stage and then 26-6 just before half time, I just don’t understand how we let that all unravel. I think we all know other teams would have easily put the Warriors away today in that same situation. Our defence is absolutely shocking it is as bad as the Tigers I reckon. We do not move up Quickly in defence. We miss way too many tackles and we just look like a rabble, when things are not going our way. Fitz has got to fix this up and quickly.

We’ve shown we can score points, but we need to show a lot more in defence.

Yes, there were some puzzling refereeing decisions, but we should not have been in that position throughout the second half. I’m gonna find it hard to pick players in my 321 because no one really stood out not even Nicho.

Hopefully we can turn this around before the roosters game.

They should have started the second half with the intensity they have shown in the last 4-5 minutes.

Gonna be a long season if this is the kind of defensive performance we produce week in and week out.
I'm fine with the attack, but something needs to be done at the other end.

At home, 20 points up at some stage, you don't lose the game especially if you picture yourself as a premiership contender.

Also, I thought the bunker was going to be less involved this year? That hip drop call right before halftime was absolutely ridiculous. On par with Atkins's howler in the Newcastle-Manly game. The Warriors were really hard done by, but they overcame that and won. Good on them.
Webster's has turned their fortunes around it seems. First decent coach they have since Cleary.

The message at half time from Fitz was to not make errors, make their tackles, keep the pressure on and not give the Warriors a sniff

I think we have become what the Warriors used to be (flashy but flaky) and the Warriors are becoming a bit of what the Sharks used to be - a team with a bit of guts willing to hang in and scrap for the win against all odds even if they arn't always perfect. We arn't always perfect either but we seem to have lost that steely resolve and willingness to fight and tough it out.

I'm concerned about Fitz too Gumby but some of our players need to pull their fingers out too - especially after alot of them have been given contract extensions it's not the best way to repay the faith

Individual errors in tough conditions with the opposition coming out firing and putting you under pressure - yep it happens but you need to defend those errors and that's where we really are coming undone. Otherwise if you can't defend, well hey fellas spose we shouldn't make too many errors then

All last week in the media the warriors coach and players have been banging on about their resilience , they showed that last night . It's what we need to find , we had for much of last year in our defence and i'm sure we can find it again .

The problem with the modern game is its not hard to rack up a score. 10 years ago a 20 point lead was safe as houses. Today its so easy to lose that lead. At 20-0 the Sharks should never have allowed them to make a move. Between Ronnie carrying on like a ******* and all the dropped balls, they did it to themselves and cant blame refs, bunker or anyone else. That last penalty was bullshit but the 30 points they let in prior was not.

To be fair a 20 point lead would usually be pretty safe as well as it can deflate the opposition. Pretty greasey conditions, you take the free points every time. I do feel like the 4 score difference put some complacency in the boys though.

Nothing wrong with the challenge in the air. Katoa had already dropped it or falconed or whatever by that point

AFAIK, Hannay is the attack coach and we are fine there. But we are an open highway when it comes to defense.
