It's not unusual for good coaches to have bad patches.

Remember Panthers' fans wanted Cleary gone a few years ago. It happens.

We obviously have a glaring issue on the left, if he doesn't make a change then he's not learning. Golden Boy needs to be dropped, not like we don't have a very good replacement ready to go.

Unfortunately for Trindall sitting on the bench in first grade (or even playing 15 out of position) doesn't do a lot to keep pushing his case.
While I don't care that we had our 17th man not play I do think we'd have been better off having him run around in reserve grade for 80 mins (especially as stats suggest our halves in that had a shocker).

However I don't think Trindall makes much difference that game. Him being peppered by hard runners on the tryline isn't a recipe for success and we didn't lose it for lack of attack.

Any one or two less of these simple errors and we win that by not allowing sustained pressure on our line

Talakai 1

Other key things, a half not being able to defend the line isn't great but a second rower being as bad as Wilton was is inexcusable. Between the two of them it was a shambles.
Dale putting himself in position to get binned for hip drop after we'd already seen a bin for one earlier and game was in the balance was a big blue by our highest paid player we brought in to be a leader too.

That's as good a kicking game i've seen from SJ in seasons and all because we were putting absolutely no kick pressure on him , once he worked that out he grew in confidence . Some of his kicks were great . And i detest saying that , can't stand the guy .

Trindall has proven he has made a massive positive difference this year. Stop trolling and talking nonsense

Just because Moylan had a sht game doesn’t mean the next man up would too

Cam might end up getting that starting spot if Dale gets some time off for his hip drop. I wouldn’t mind seeing Cam play 60+ minutes at lock.
Great suggestion , then Cam can drop more than a couple in 60+.

When he was on sideline yesterday just before he went on he was practising his quick play the balls , running into the pad held by one of the staff, dropping to the ground then bounching to his feet & playing to the ball .

Wife asked why I was smiling , you'll see I said . He didn't disappoint .

You gotta ask the question-

Was the left edge better last year because Wade was there for half a game?

We looked good in the middle yesterday when we had Cam and Jack on. Fast ptb’s.

That's it really. You can't win games in such even contests giving away that kind of ball.

18 points out left edge leaked yesterday.

The left edge is demanding perfection from the rest of the team every game to make up for its failings. Every player is going to have a bad game every now and then, but our left edge means we can’t afford that.

It’s an untenable situation that Fitz has to fix somehow.

Dales tackle was a hip drop. Grabbed around the waist from the side and then rolled around the back of the player and dropped his hips. In that position you can’t use your weight by dropping your hips to bring the player down. You can only drop your hips if you’re in front of the player.

The penalty on Hunt was absolute garbage. Moylan shouldered Curran out of the way legitimately.

I thought Hunt could have been penalised for the initial touch on Curran, but that was 20-25m up field from where the ref awarded it. He doesn't touch him at all in the contest later on.

Probably won't happen, but this is one where Annesley should come out and say "yeah - the ref got the call right, but he marked the spot incorrectly".

This play is a good reason to not burn your Captain's Challenge on a 50/50 call earlier in the game... or piss away 20 point leads.

One thing if the error was going for it on the 4th+ in deep attacking territory too. At least 4 of those were deep in our D within about 10 mins

They aren’t ‘demanding perfection’ from the rest of the team. Left also scored 4 of our 5 tries I think? And we conceded decent amount of points elsewhere too.

They aren’t defending well but they contributed as much to our chance of winning as our chance of losing.

If the other side was scoring all the points too I’d agree more with the demanding perfection. They are contributing well on one side of the ball, struggling on the other. They gave up 3 if the 5 errors that put themselves under pressure.

Agree something needs to be fixed there.

At one stage Warriors had a tap and SJ wasn’t looking, they had no runners, took a second or two before they reacted and ran. We still stood back and watched and gave up 10+ meters
What are you doing Price can we get some line speed please

Was anyone else getting nauseous listening to Flanno's commentary on Kayo? FMD talk about death riding us the whole match while talking up the Warriors.

Was a dumb decision. He's been in great form....didn't play last week because had an injury and now doesn't get any time this week.

Way to kill off his form.

Ridiculous.

Quite a few attempted tackles were slipped out of my NZ players yesterday. It was like they were bars of soap.

Weird that the same wasn't happening in reverse.

If NZ were foaming up you'd think that they'd done the old detergent trick.

Should have subbed tricky on to take the penalty after the buzzer.
