I much prefer thisSifa back to centre CT wing
BHU back on the bench
Fitz was on the radio about this game and sounded perkier than usual. Said he was excited for the game ect. Saying the typical coach stuff that is but have to wonder inside if he is packing it a bit, must be feeling the pressure by now.
It's nice he sounded positive but is it genuine optimism or denial / delusion that his team is actually capable of competing with best team in the comp?
I mean what has changed for us to not get embarrassed beyond Panthers taking it a bit easy / having an off night? With first place up for grabs both scenarios seem unlikely for the Panthers plus playing at home on a Sat night they will be looking to make it party central up there.
He made the cliche throw away line but all the same ridiculous comment that this will be a good test to see where we are at as a team and what the players are made of. Umm dude we already know where we are at as a team and what our team is made of (Jelly), the last 6 months have made it evidently clear we are not up to the task of beating the best sides (Top 6) or even hanging with them beyond 20 mins in some cases.
Someone made the comment of hoping Wade can perform on his old left edge but he was plonked there 2 weeks ago and struggled for alot of it with just a couple good moments but a number of bad ones. Hoping for some improvement from him at least tonight, this isn't an in game change, Wade has known about it in advance of kick off.
Jesse C has been quite good and will be missed. Dale is out but I can take it or leave it. Tracey can do a job on the wing in the absence of Ronaldo who has had some mixed form with the ball and not great defense but been pretty good under the high ball. An area where Tracey has a physical disadvantage.
Our new halves pairing has another week under it's belt.
Our bench is the biggest I can recall since I don't know when - all strong forwards that can bring impact but will Fitz rotate them appropriately? Will those forwards step up to the plate in a big game?
Will it even matter if we can't control the ruck or make our tackles along with keeping our discipline in check and kick well? No it won't be enough
Rain could have helped us (like it did the Tigers against Panthers) but seems it will hold out and be dry.
I had a misplaced feeling that a few weeks ago when the team went over the NZ that we were going to step up and pull out a win and that proved to be the opposite of what took place.
While a win could do wonders for this team and it's season and while I do have a feeling we will go better than expected I just do not see a win.
Hoping we can at least be competitive and not get annihilated. That mauling we took at the claws of the Panthers a few years ago still haunts me.
Good luck Sharks fans and be kind to one another...
Whatever the outcome it's going to be fun here on the forum later tonight
Prediction:
Panthers 32 Sharks 18
+ New OWB crowned
/End Transmission
Surely we win off the back of Gards return to form?
Never was out of form - just got a bit complacent being rested for the big games.
