Well same goes for Tracey and Trindall. Playing well in park footy doesnt mean **** for how theyre gunna play in firsts against a good team either
There’s 6+ blokes in that team who people reckon should be being given a crack in first grade based on the fact they consistently look decent in a very strong jets team - supposedly those guys would also look good against top NRL teams

This is not a Trindall debate.

All I’m saying is don’t go and buy your grand final tickets after last nights game.

That Sloan try felt like the Deardon one in the semi final ..
That one looked to me like each defender hoping the next guy had him. Totally avoidable try, was nothing flash from sloan, the field just opened up for him as he noticed noone was having a go.

The first 2 and how easily they scored them is my worry. Both off errors (that stupid early shift from Nicho then the obstruction).

Majority of the talk was to give Trindall and Coulqhoun a chance. Of course if they are playing consistently good and above the rest of the competition they deserve a look at. How else would they even get promoted?

Think about it, majority of our current team is made up of "blokes in that team who people reckon should be being given a crack in first grade based on the fact they consistently look decent in a very strong jets team".

I just dont get how people here are so salty and defensive about giving some promising juniors and reserve graders a chance over a couple of players who have passed their prime.

By the way you all go on you would've kept Kennedy, Nikora, Talakai, Rudolf, Katoa, Mulitalo, Wilton. Uele, Hunt, Brailey and Hazelton at Newtown.

The score should have been 52-0 or 52-6 at worst.

D still needs lots of work. The top teams will hot tire, open up and give us opportunities, that’s why we score very low when we play them.

If you look at the scores against the Bulldogs and Dragons without seeing the games, you'd be forgiven for thinking that we were in red hot form. It's amazing to think though that scoring 100 points in two games doesn't see us all confident about our chances in the finals. The last two games have been the most underwhelming thrashings I have ever seen, we are just lucky that the two teams we have played have been ****.

I never thought I'd see the day where we put 50 on the Dragons at home, and it still feels a bit hollow!

It's pretty crazy when you think most of the kids at the games have never really seen the Sharks have a tough period like the Dragons are going through now.

By that stretch the other half would drop the lot and run out a half jets half Flegg team.
Maybe the guys you identified earned and waited for their chance? Took them when they came?

Can only play 17 blokes - it’s a good thing we have more than that capable of playing NRL, that’d why we have a squad. You can’t just discard every player once someone young is 95% as good, or they look 105% as good in an easier comp. Trindall has runs on the board in NRL so a bit fairer to judge that battle.

People can make individual arguments for this player vs that player fine but it’s not fair to argue Moylan only looked good because it was dragons but pretend Trindall doesn’t have a relatively easy go of things most weeks playing for jets. We’re 2nd and just beat 11th placed eels 40-22. Not too hard for (admittedly in particular the better) players to make each other look good there either.

Edit: adding in as an example plenty in here would have dropped Kennedy or got rid of him because Miller looked good in Cup and has a couple decent NRL games. Fair argument that would have been wrong.

You can drop Wade to get one of them in the 17. Replace him with another forward and have Calqhoun, or put Tracey at utility and give him stints in the middle. You could also have Trindall come in at 7 or 6, and have Moylan at 14, give him a role to roam around in the middle

Another victim has been claimed.
