I don't think any of those changes significantly fixes a teamwide disregard for ball security, or issues with defence (line D for both sides and middle, line speed, staying aware). If we respected the ball to the tune of 80%+, added a little line speed and halved our egregious defence efforts the 17 Fitz is putting out there are absolutely good enough to win most games.
i'd like to think that adding younger guys without miles in their legs would improve our defence and line speed

trindall could be no worse than moylan in defence, its ****in weird that we aren't giving him a run

ball security, probably not, we seem to play like we have adhd

If the Dogs score first, watch the heads go down.

After last week's game, we need to come out early and make a statement.

If that doesn't happen, it will be a tough game. I don't think we'll win the arm wrestle.

I have been consoling myself today while working from home in watching countless videos of Sharks highlights over the years. I am hoping that by doing this, I'll have some sort of positiveness return to me in time for Sunday's game.

I have had fun though watching the likes of ET, Gal, Gavin Miller, Sparkles McGaw, and the Peach show off their talents. I also watched a Steve Rogers highlights reel, what a player that man was! There were also players that you sometimes have forgotten they played for the Sharks, players such as Phil Hurst, Gary Cameron, Dean Carney (still don't know how that man kicked goals with his physique), Paul Merlo and Eion Crosson.

So now, I just might be able to get down to Shark Park on Sunday with that horrible memory erased and some thought that we could possibly win this game.

Mate, you've seen how the next generation of player defends. It's like most of them have grown up playing a T20 version of rugba league.

I really don't think it's that weird that Moylan hasn't been dropped. I can understand how a coach wouldn't want two rookie halves starting (and Trindall really still is a first grade rookie) and thinks having an old stager helping out Nicho is a good idea. There's been plenty of chook without a head moments from Nicho when he's gotten carried away and it wouldn't get any better if he were the senior half. Not yet, anyway.

It really shouldn’t matter anymore what beliefs / thoughts are, the fact is he’s playing like a busted arse and ain’t doing a single thing to help Nicho.

Tough to say what the coach believes and doesn't, but it'll be based on a lot more than well get to see or here. Mine's just one theory on why Fitzy's doing what he's doing, for better or worse.

I do think with Moylan touching the ball a lot before Nicho gets it and points are scored lends it some weight though...

Pure speculation all round, Wilson my old mate!

Not sure what he'll be more offended by there, you calling him old or a mate 😁

What I love about this game is that the dropped NSW half is playing against the same team that the selected NSW half played against to gain selection. So if Hynes rips them apart, and Moses chokes the following Wednesday night, well that is Fittler cooked right there.

We can only dream.

My only memory of Eion Crosson was when he missed a goal attempt from directly on front, 20m out.

He was selected as a utility because he’s a half that’s played in the backline. It was neck and neck between him and Luai in the lead up. Moses didn’t rate a mention. Ever. He selected Hynes as a 14 because he couldn’t make his mind up. Burton is a smarter 14 than Hynes. I hope Moses goes well, no knock on him, but Fittler has presided over the greatest origin selection **** show this state has seen. One club game has made one and broken another NSW half. It’s nuts. And arguable our best player of game one has been dropped.

Moses and Hynes play 2 different roles - that’s why Moses got the job. Luai needs a game manager/kicker which is what Moses is - Hynes is a long way from that

A Reynolds-Moses/Hynes combo would’ve been mad but that’s Fittler for you

He's only played half and fullback. Cover for fullback isn't even required with Turbo in the team.

I don't remember hearing it was neck and neck between him and Luai. I reckon Fittler was 100% always going with the Penrith combo.

I do agree though that Nicho shouldn't have been picked as a utility, stupid decision.

Agree with the bold bit.

I think Reynolds maybe too slow for SOO.
