Two mates having a wrestle at 3am (no families around), seriously who gives a flog.
I thought it was much earlier than 3am?

Anyway, don't care much about Latrell or Wighton, just counting down the days to our first game.

Two mates high profile supposed role-models having a wrestle at 3am (no families around), getting thrown in lockup and then laughing it off? Seriously who gives a flog? People who expect more of role models. That's who.
FTFY.

To put this in context, in 2009 Brett Seymour was fined $20,000 and suspended for 2 games for being drunk, taking home a girl who wasn't his girlfriend, and having some rando film him walking down the mall with her without his knowledge. He did nothing illegal and the police were not involved.

This is at a time when YouTube wasn't universally known, iPhones and Twitter were brand new, and neither TikTok or Instagram existed.

You don't think that what Mitchell and Wighton did is at the very least a very poor example of how young men should behave, given that $1m+ teenage boys can watch the footage online, read the player's excuses, and then see that the NRL did nothing?

Tickets on sale. However, I'm unable to use my unique membership code to redeem my ticket (part of flexi membership). Just comes up invalid.

Edit. It now accepts the code, but still being charged for a ticket (not free).
Edit #2 - code invalid again. Sharks support aware there is an issue and trying to resolve with Ticketek.

burton is crap, if he cant put up a spiral bomb he offers absolutely nothing
I don't think he's crap, but he is definitely no Hynes. Burton just sat on his edge on Sunday waiting for the game to come to him. For big money, and a team that is being built around you that doesn't fly. He's got the skills, he just needs the motivation.

Isn't doing much to prove you wrong, that's for sure. And he won't if he's a one man band (well duet if you include JAC). Flanno Jnr really needs to step up this season. ... surely it's his last chance. Maybe that will motivate him

Could have been “game plan” to see how the other half performs.
It was a “trial” game after all.

Better to judge his game after the start of reg season to have a truer indication.

no mate, he is crap

he cant create, he doesnt run and all he can do is kick

his go to play this year will be throw the ball to kikau and hope

he could legit be the best centre in the comp but will be nothing more than a mediocre 5/8

Agree to disagree. I think he can be a weapon at 5/8, but I don't think the dogs have landed the right pieces to make that possible.

Hasn't turned 23 yet. I think the Bulldogs are playing the long game.

At 22 none of Munster, Walker, Moylan or Wighton had played a single game in the NRL at 6, and Luke Keary was a bench player.

Thank you for making my point for me. I couldn't as I was not on a medium that I could write long easily.

Do you just have that saved for every two months when it needs to be repeated haha

I don't think what they did initially deserves any more than a tsk tsk from police and then, if it even came up, NRL.
But at the point police have chosen to intervene more strongly (likely due to player profile) they needed to do the right thing and not resist.
Publicly disobeying the police and being supported for it is not a good look for young prospective league players, many of whom will find themselves in similar situations.

the bulldogs are playing the "make him do everything and he will have no legs at 27" game

he is an easy target for a good team to bash him, all he has is JAC and no creativity to create space or a bulldozer on the left that teams will match up on and eat alive

then they have spent a million on a centre to play rank at fullback

there is no protection for him anywhere, will fizzle out rapidly

he likes to miss out that DCE was a rookie and won a premiership at that age

i know burton has as well, but not as a play maker, as the best centre in the comp

He's good enough I don't even think he really needs that much more from his 7 to be fine. But atm as you've said the whole weight of the team is on him and Flanju just can't do enough to release any of it. Reed maybe, but I'm not convined.

If teams let their forward pack roll though they are more than capable of winning

Of course there are exceptions. The point isn't no player ever did anything good before 22, it's just pointing out it is common for many good players to have not mastered NRL by that age as we often see comments in here too quickly discarding players - or two quickly trying to push they should be NRL starters because they looked good last year in Flegg and were solid in Cup for a few rounds too
