Am I crazy in thinking he got off very light here? Thought for sure he was looking at a few weeks. Intentional contact with the back of the head.
Maybe not a lot of force in it? I can't really remember, I only saw it once on replay.

Rapana getting a fine only for his 3rd similar offence is why the sport is becoming a joke.
Not sure if it is his 3rd similar offence, CBF looking up what he got charged for last season. I don't believe offences need to be similar or not under new rules. Either have prior offences or you don't.

A fine?

How many times has the bloke been suspended?
This is his rap sheet for this season
  • Jordan Rapana (Pre-season Challenge, $3000 fine – Careless High Tackle)
  • Jordan Rapana (suspended Round 2-4 – Shoulder Charge)
  • Jordan Rapana (Round 24, $3000 fine – Dangerous Contact - tripping)
Plus pending another $3000 fine for dangerous contact.
Grade 1 dangerous contact is a fine no matter how many times you please guilty. Contrary Conduct and Careless High Tackles are the same - always a fine.
If he got charged Grade 2 he'd miss 3 games, 4 if fought it and lost

He gets put on report weekly for attacking with the legs/knees and most of the time doesnt even get charged. Its a ****ing joke.

Yeah he's a shocker. One of the most unlikeable blokes getting around atm (from a footy perspective, no idea what he's like off field).
He's well beyond a grub and he's borderline a liability (saved by the judiciary structure fining him so much).

It'd be interesting where he'd sit if you could list backs by 'foul play' penalties - he's 25th most penalised back who has played 12 or more games but that is all penalties and a lot would be ruck, kick chase offsides, things like that (he's 20th by 'average')

Remember the chaos that was the Leipana edge? Will they win Canberra the game or lose it this week - nobody knows!

No denying he's a solid player, was MOM on weekend against Canterbury
A try, three try assists, 178 run metres, 10 tackle busts, three linebreaks, two linebreak assists and two dog shots - great day out for Jordan!

If we win and Brisbane beat Canberra we can't finish lower than 5th.

Maybe we rest some players from the last game?

Other than a player with a niggle that could actually benefit from a week off I think a head of steam behind the team probably does us more favours

Yep. If we have any niggles youd rest them but if they are good to play, you play them. With all the injuries and changes of late, the more these guys play together the better. A rest would be a step backwards IMO

I get your point but I'm the opposite.

It's bloody hard winning from outside the top 4 for a reason.

I reckon it's pretty rare a team outside of the 8 has the luxury of resting players in the last round knowing a home final is guaranteed.

Yes, it would be a gamble but I think it's a calculated risk worth taking.

I think it depends on how this weekend goes somewhat. If we come out and put on a clinical performance to dismantle the knights, I'd be more in favour as you feel like things are working. At that point, wait and see how the Storm v Broncos game goes and rest/bench your key guys against the Raiders if top 4 is out of reach.

If we are scrappy and win 31/30 or something, we probably have a lot more to work on before finals.
