Serious question and fully hypothetical, but if you were a young up and coming coach and was given the choice between coaching Tigpies or Saints, who would you choose?

Saints.

But I would want to have a look at the salary cap situation at both clubs.

Wouldn't touch the dragons with a 40 foot pole. They are still being run like the early 80s. Jobs for the boys all through the joint.

Tigers with a few front office changes would be easier to turn around.

Difficult choice. Both have similar geographical/commuting issues, though the to/from Wollongong trip is probably worse.

Tigers have the Centre of Excellence (https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/th...ests-tigers-new-78m-home-20220813-p5b9n3.html).

But Dragons have more influence when they get going, they get the referee calls and Origin selections and salary cap decisions that can help get them a premiership.

Based on the squads though, I would say Tigers. Dragons players are always consistently over-rated after a couple of performances.

Tough one. They seem to have the same sorts of issues being merger clubs. I wouldn't want either... guess I'd pick the Tigers.
But if I was a young coach (anything up to 60 compared to Sir Wayne) I'd go where I had the most support. It'd be a tough road without people having your back on the inside.

Dragons for sure. Bloody good recruitment area that Illawarra region. Beats me why they lose so many of them cmg through. What?- about 3/4 genuine rep feeder teams. Surely several good football people can harness that for them. Fair dinkum, they would be Premiers in 5 yrs if so, with blended outside players.

Neither.

Both merger clubs have proven to be too volatile at board level lately. Just feel like I’d be bashing my head against a brick wall to get things done.

The way I see it, Tigpies can see their problems, are just not very good at being able to rectify them.

Dragons can't see any issues, but also think no problem cant be fixed with a contract extension and then a sacking

Mister X charged with domestic violence, pulled from Sports Show

A prominent sports journalist has been charged with alleged domestic violence offences and stood down from his role a Sports show .
The charges against Mr X emerged over the weekend, with police alleging a 33-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man were involved in an altercation before she was allegedly assaulted.
Police said in a statement both were known to each other and were both arrested by officers who attended the scene.
The man was charged with common assault and intentionally choking without consent, and has been told to appear in court on Wednesday.
The woman was released without being charged.
An image of the Sports show presenter and News Corp writer representing Full Stop Australia, a non-profit aimed at ending family violence, was shared widely on social media after the charges were reported.
Full Stop deleted the tweet and said Mr X's ambassadorship with the organisation ended six years ago.
Mr X was absent from his usual spot on Fox Sports' NRL 360 program on Monday night, the first episode since the charges were reported.
"Gorden Tallis is replacing Mr X this week," host Braith Anasta said.
"Mr X is stood down while he deals with personal issues."
The 53-year-old's absence was not addressed at any other point in the program, which many observers, including former and current players were quick to point out would not be the case if they were the subject of similar allegations.
Roosters forward Matt Lodge wrote a scathing Instagram post featuring a segment from Monday night's show, which criticised the Sydney Roosters' recruitment of Lodge, who pleaded guilty to assault after drunkenly forcing his way into an apartment in New York City in 2015.
Tallis said the Roosters never used to recruit "people like that", referring to Lodge flipping his middle finger at fans while playing for the Warriors in 2021.
"Valid points Gordon. Can we please hear Mr X's opinion now. #askMr X #wheresMrX," Lodge wrote, referencing a regular call-out for fans to write questions to Mr X on social media. Former NSW State of Origin playmaker James Maloney tweeted that he wanted Mr X to be "treated exactly as a player would be".
"His job makes him a public figure in the game so there's no difference," Maloney tweeted.
Meanwhile, former Dragons, Cowboys and Eels player Cameron King said there was already an imbalance in the way Mr X was being treated when compared to players.
"If that was a player there would be 15 stories with very little facts & cameras at their house," King tweeted.
"Do we not take the issue as seriously if it's someone in the media???"
