Roosters are a bit like us in beating the bottom feeders, they've had an easy end to the season with Manly, Dolphins, Parra, Tigers and Bunnies. The last proper team they played was Broncos who beat them 32-10.

When we played them in April, both teams were pretty much full strength, though Roosters players like Tedesco, Brandon Smith and Suaalii were not playing well at the time. Since then we have lost Finucane and Wilton and Kennedy, they have lost JWH and Lodge (and hopefully Manu and Tupou will miss another week).

All in all a pretty even game. I just hope we can get our members there in numbers. Would be an awful feeling to be outnumbered at Shark Park. Everything I can see says that Roosters members get the same 10am window that we do (https://www.nrl.com/news/2023/09/03/nrl-telstra-premiership-finals-week-one-schedule/).

Why the **** didn't we get the Sunday? Is it a broadcast thing with the Knights being a big fan base?

Roosters of a 8 day turn around against us off 6. Another year to add to the list.
I think the Knights-Raiders game is the least attractive one, and more suited to Sunday for TV. And maybe it’s better to have a short turnaround in Week 1 rather than Week 2…

It'd ridiculous but it's what you get when playing a final at a venue that only holds 12k people. Most will disagree but I think it's crazy.
It's the same though at Homebush or CommBank (unless it's the A League). Rugby League is an expensive game watch live.

It's not $40 for GA, to sit on grass, at those venues though.
Yeah last year the cheapest GA tickets at PointsBet were far more expensive than the cheapest at other venues (which were around $15 I believe). As soon as it looked like we were playing the Roosters, I think we should have moved it to Commbank

A weird thing I noticed.
The round 5 loss to the Warriors by 2 points,
Sees Warriors get top 4, with +124 f/a, 2 points better than Cronulla at +122.
Had the result gone the other way, both finish on 36 points with Cronulla instead having the better differential and getting 4th spot.

Goes to show that every result matters.

If Warriors were playing for a top 4 berth last round, I imagine they wouldn't have rested most of their regular 17 and would have beaten the Dolphins fairly easily.

That's actually pretty good for GA, I didn't know the alcohol free area was that much cheaper.
I drank my beers in the queue waiting for food so it'd still work out well!
