DT reporting that Nicho part of squad and will be allowed to play for the Sharks.

I'm not sure that equates to he's 18th man (article is paywalled) and will be allowed to play (IMO more likely he's just part of extended squad).
This is what I was expecting to happen. Wighton 18th man if Crichton holds the spot come game day.

talakai wont be playing, but olam will be marked up on ramien
I'm guessing Wighton bumps out either him or Hynes
If what the guys above are saying is true if he bumps Talakai out of 17 we might be able to play both

Deardon was 18th for game one and he could not play ..
And what's worse is they actually ended up running Arrow as 18th man on game day, so Dearden could have played

You'd think they'll keep Talakai on the bench if they're going with two hookers again, which no doubt they will.

Yeah I would but Freddie loves Wighton and Wighton was great in game 1.
He is big enough to do a 20 minute job in the middle or on an edge, while providing cover for centre and halves.
Wighton can also give Yeo a quick breather if needed without shuffling Cam Murray.

But early injury in the forwards would be a bit of a hassle, especially without big minute Haas there.
In fact maybe without Haas he will stick with the 'forward' in Talakai.

Expecting to stick with two hookers.

edit: well there you go apparently side named now and Wighton is 18th man

Like others have said, Melbourne still have plenty of strike and we will have heavier legs. The fact that it's such a wet track may limit paps out the back. Melbourne have never been riper for the picking. Hopefully we get a rehash of the famous night game when Smith was binned.

Sharks 14-4 with Brandon Smith to be binned.

Wighton can't cover a prop who goes down or a forward who goes down with injury, Talakai can.

I don't know how they can have Cook and Wighton on the bench, that's very risky.

Where are you hearing this? I'd be surprised if they allowed this.
Freddie could just as likely put Wighton in as an edge second rower... not sure how it'll work in the end, but I'll be surprised if a fit Wighton misses out based on history, and the talk is it would be at Talakai's expense.
I also need this to happen for my SC team ;)

edit: Just caught up on the last hour... Looks like Talakai will be out for us regardless of if there's a late switch between he and Wighton.

Martin can switch to middle and Angus would before either Talakai/Wighton too I'd think.
Wighton could probably fill in there for 20 mins if desperate in that side, back three get them off to such a good start he could easily take a hitup off Yeo every set or so

I think we just have to accept that Connor Tracey will be playing for us against the Storm. Can't see who else Fitz would put there.

Mixed emotions on Talakai being named. Going to be great for his experience and development, on the other hand would prefer he be available against the Storm. He might also not back up against the Cowboys but if he only plays 20 mins again he probably will.

I was sure Wighton would get that spot. Curious to see if it changes.

I would hate facing a beaten Bellamy side the week after he has blasted the **** out of them
-no matter who is in or out-

HB is right - fatigue will kill us
despite being home and another wet track.

hope I'm wrong

2 of their most dangerous players in Munster and Grant are out, you can't ignore that.

They dont have a Hynes to call up this time too. Shame Papi is back, he would have been a handy out also.

Very keen to see how we step up against a top 4 team

There is a possibility of a switch up yet ..

Pitty we already have 2 gun hookers as Robson is looking awesome ..
