I have no doubt they will be competitive by the time next season roles around. They will be able to attract some reasonable spine players by then with the squad they have.
I'll go against the grain and say it's looking grim for them.

Next year isn't far away. Yes they might pick up one if they're lucky but it's not like say three decent spine players are going to lob up by March next year imo.

Be nice to see Wayne add a SPOON to his Trophy Cabinet

I agree with this. Reckon they'll be shithouse and take a long time to look any good. The last thing this competition needed was another team desperate and fighting for the limited talent pool. Basically we've got enough **** teams as it is and considering the impact covid has had on lower grades and development, now is the worst time to be bringing in another mangy dog to fight over the scraps.

Yep agree, said this a year or two ago.

I know they wanted it done for the next TV deal but they would have been better waiting until the one after.

Tigers and the Tits will be happy, might actually be a team next year worse than them.

ATM they'd need some serious luck (other teams injuries) to not be a clear bottom of the ladder side and they are probably two spine players away from being able to compete to get out of bottom 4.

I'm all but certain the crap teams are crap morso because of their clubs rather than the players. Look at the history of the likes of the Tigers and Titans. Even Newy, who've done okay considering but fell apart pretty quickly without Pearce.

You get the organisation on track, pathways worked out and a quality coach and you've got a very competitive side within a few years. Flanno did it. Gus with the Panthers. The Cowboys did it in one season. The Bronco's have taken a couple to get back on track but seem to have their sh*t back in order. But the blueprint for on field success is there.

Bennett should be able to create that organisational success quickly, so I think it's just going to come down to 2-3 marquee type signings and when we can jag them.

Yeah. Someone somewhere will get unhappy, homesick, need the money, or do some stupid **** to get the boot from his existing club. They are Rugby League players.
Exactly.

I know Snowman made up the Miller rumor...but actually he would be a good pick up for them.

Miller: Fullback
Luke Brooks 1/2
Milford 5/8

Marshall King off the bench Sign a hooker and they would be competitive.

This is not something which is unrealistic. They could prob even take kyle flanagan for depth

I don't see anything competitive with that spine.

Why would anyone need to make a "big play" for Miller? Literally played one game in the NRL at 27 in a scrappy affair against the Titans and has a year and a bit to go on a minimal deal. If you're signing him as a starting fullback you are in strife. If it's for "big play" money then even more so.

JMK was one of Dogs best against us, he has started showing some better form this year. He could go okay behind what is shaping up to be a competitive pack. Maybe some spritely young impact 9 on the bench wouldn't be the worst idea but I think as far as a starting 9 goes he should be okay for them if he holds his form.

He has def been getting better. Any way my point is the dolphins will be competitive next year with the squad they are assembling and they will work their spine out so that it is decent. If you have a good pack it is easier to attract players in other areas. It was smart to built that first IMO
