He’s 100% correct, very negative tactics.
Leaning back too much against a team like French is never going to work. They did not even shift to second gear and still won comfortably.

You cannot play an all out attack game against them either if you are Australia as they will kill you on the counter. We should have been in their faces, rattle them and see what happens.

Leaning back, watching them play is not going to work - ever.

Tunisia we’re absolutely tremendous against a very good Denmark team. We are looking odds on for bottom of the group comfortably.

Predictable scoreline for the Aussies, more or less what I was expecting. We are capable of putting a goal on the top teams but over 90 mins we just cannot hang with teams like this and are not ruthless enough to punish mistakes.

Netherlands, France, Germany, Brazil ect usually goes the same way against us and until we have the talent and gameplans to play at their level we will always be outclassed eventually even if we can compete with them for periods.

There are more high profile teams than the Socceroos that get belted on occasion as well though

No shame for the Socceroos, we need to build over decades and generations. Hopefully from here we can jag a draw or a win though it won't be enough with that goal differential anyway at least we can take something positive away.

We also need a higher level competition or get in players in a position where they play in high level competitions.

The first step to that is getting the domestic set up right. It hasn’t been all bad news, some fantastic players have come from the A-League and gone to Europe, but there’s still a lot of work to be done on the A-League, the incoming second division and sorting out the pyramid below which horrifically divided.

Serious question, how do they sort out the A League? I'm guessing it's impossible to keep the really good players here?

They were heading in the right direction by trying to bring olympians in, but I think that failed*.

*Not serious answer.

I don’t have the answers but I’ve got some ideas which might be good, i’ll go into detail a bit later. Busy at work right now.
I do have all the answers but they don't pay me so they can figure it out themselves

Luckily I only know garbage about the NRL so I can provide that for free
