no way Bellamy is willing to take 2 straight losses heading into a finals campaign after winning near 20 straight - they will be up for this big time no matter what players they name

if the professional, focused storm show up they might really put the hurt on us

I think our only hope is to throw caution to the wind and come up with an unorthadox game plan , unfortunately Hannay is not the coach we would see implement or attempt this. will stick with what has helped us to lose to every single half decent team throughout the season and TBF to the bloke his options are limited and he has some young blokes starting to form combos and improve while some older blokes are still learning how to tackle or mark a player

But all the same our usual shtick isn't gunna cut it, storm defend their edges better than any other team and that's where we focus nearly all our attacking play and structures (shaping through our halves to kennedy to get the ball out to our winger) and we know how bad our defense can be so we arn't gunna grind or frustrate the storm out like the good ol days. We need a cat amongst the pigeons, something to mix things up even if it's just being more aggressive than them for longer. We know the Storm can get rattled and get sloppy occasionally

I spose it's handy having the raiders game on the night before and that the outcome of that game may determine our approach to the storm. e.g if raiders lose then our game against the storm may well be as simple as damage limitation in terms of F/A
Titans could remain a threat on F/A as well, playing the Warriors they could put on some points for sure so perhaps we can't get too conservative or risk adverse

Bellamy would love nothing more than winning minor premiership against the Sharks who took the 2016 premiership off him. I love my Sharks and my heart sunk when Eels took lead late in game as I knew the ramifications which where unexpected. I offloaded my Sharks bets to make 8 (at a profit) and backed Raiders to make it.

I don’t think fear of two losses would worry Bellamy, or even really no minor prem

He’ll rest who he wants to rest and back who he picks to be good enough

If they drop two straight games he’ll use that as motivation but his goal is premiership, if he thinks someone will benefit from a rest they’ll get it

He'd care. Winning minor premiership is still recorded in history and the double is prized when discussing greatest coaches deeds in generations to come.

remember them belting us in Rnd 26 2016 to secure their minor premiership, we were bad that night and all hope felt lost....

this time around it's the panthers gunning for No.1 spot and who could well meat them in the GF

Funnily enough I felt confident after that game, we weren't as bad as the scoreline made out.

He also loves Ricky more and would like to help him out. Uncle Nick also loves Ricky and a Roosters loss will not change their position on table.
Calm down with the conspiracy theories, he’s the best coach because he doesn’t give a toss about anything but his team, if they need a rest they will get a rest. It’s about the big dance winning minor and not the premiership is a failure, finishing second and winning the premiership is success. I’ll rest just a little a little easier if raiders get rolled Thursday night.

Exactly.

I’m not sure the loss will have a huge bearing on what they do and this has been planned a while ago.

Care to some amount for sure, just not sure he’d care enough to not rest someone if he felt it would benefit them for finals

Is the prize money still $50k (minor) and $200k (premiers) this year, or did they go back to $100k/$400k ?

Yep. Should hold onto the ball, aim up in the middle and don't give away stupid penalties - that will confuse the hell out of them!

Write all the positions on slips of paper and players draw from a hat before the game.

They'll probably still have
Pap at 1
Hynes at 6
Hughes at 7
One of their guns playing hooker

Already a classy spine .
Couple of BIG boppers back.
We'll need our A game .
AND I think we will bring it

They should care. I wish the minor premiership was worth more then it is. Being the best team over 25 ****ing rounds should be a big ****ing deal. Really frustrates me that it isn’t held in higher regard.

I think Robinson will be doing the best he can to help his AC’s future team out

You hold it it high regard, I’m sure others do too. Do they give them an award at the Dally M’s? They give them cash. What else can we do to reward them?

That's the thing though, they do all of those things better than us. Don't get me wrong we need to bring those things as a baseline to even get into the game but it's not enough alone

it wont be easy putting points on them but they will have no issues threatening our line all game

We can't beat them straight up, our usual approach just isn't gunna cut it. Not unless every single one of our players fires up and puts in their game of the year and they rest a couple
We were leading the Storm at half time in the early season game but business end of the season is a different proposition. they wont want to even give us a sniff

Agree. The prizemoney is abysmal, should be $1m.
