Hope NZ are getting some massive reimbursement. Pay everyone more, extend their cap, give them bigger blocks of home games, I don't care.

I didn't read the article, but they should be bringing everyones families over I hope, that will make a huge difference.

I dont think so. But in 2022 i would be givin them a full year at home. Ie each club plays a home game in nz somewhere.

The sacrafice is great and everyone appreciates it but you cant go paying these guys extra im sorry. If they were to say they wont play, theres a pretty simple solution to that. See ya.

Half that team are aussie exports anyway, who would have the bulk of their families here, if they can travel with partners/kids like Storm did, then even better. If there is to be a bubble like this season, then if they have their regular live in family with them, they arent much worse off

You could definitely give them some sort of living abroad allowance, but it wouldn't be a huge amount.

I completely agree with the year at home scenario. More over id be flipping their home games in the first 4 rounds. They play the titans and the knights in rd 1 and 2 at 'home' on the central coast. Should just make them home games for the other teams and play in NZ later in the year. Sucks for them to lose home games at this stage when things could change.

Cameron McGuiness anyone?, IMHO we should at least Express Public interest, just to help Destabilize the Goons.

I’d be keen if we could get him as a 13. Would make a handy back up for Brailey too... if nothing else, I’d just like to hear a commentator say “Mick Ennis” for a Cronulla player again.

Yeah, If he was prepared to play 13 I'd love it. He'd be the hardest working player in the pack by a country mile.

Doubt he'd leave The Merge though - with him being cap'n and all.

He's such a great player, but like Hectic Cheese he'll get a gig in the 9 somewhere.

THE Cronulla Sharks have only just begun their preparations for the 2021 NRL season, but already coach John Morris is excited to see what Bathurst's Will Kennedy will do.

Kennedy forms part of a group of young, emerging talents who helped the Sharks qualify for a sixth consecutive finals campaign by finishing the regular 2020 season in eighth.

While injuries to more experienced players Matt Moylan and Josh Dugan gave the former St Pat's junior a chance at fullback, Kennedy went on to make the number one jumper his.

Though Kennedy still has aspects of his game to develop, he and the likes of Ronaldo Mulitalo and Blayke Brailey have Morris excited about what lies ahead in 2021.

"You get better every year and you get more aware of the players and the team and how the team is building," Morris told NRL.com.

"I've seen a real improvement in a lot of our youth that's come into the squad. I've debuted 11 rookies over the last two years.

"To see those guys really develop and now become first-year, second-year NRL players is a real joy that I get as coach.

"We managed to play finals footy for my first two years, which I think has been a good achievement. Both years we've obviously bowed out earlier than I'd like. We've been there at the right time of year, we've just got to show some improvement so we can go deeper."

After joining the Sharks' full-time squad in 2018 and making his NRL debut in 2019's sixth round, this season was a breakout one for Kennedy.

He played 17 games this year, including his first NRL final when the Sharks met the Raiders, scored three tries and set up 11 others.

In round 16's 28-12 win over the Cowboys, Kennedy covered 9.7 kilometres to jointly top the weekly tracker maximum distance list along with Dragon Zac Lomax.

That game also saw Kennedy produce more high-speed efforts - bursts of 20km/hr or more - than any other player in the competition with 42.

It's that sort of speed and endurance which is why Morris is excited to see the 23-year-old custodian further develop. It is why Kennedy was offered a contract extension for 2021.

"Will's commitment to his game, coupled with his outstanding character and talent makes him a perfect fit for our club," Morris said.

Is there a sporting team in Bathurst called the Nuggets? Missed opportunity, if not.

Kennedy showed immense promise at times and did have some good games along with plenty of mediocre ones and the odd shocker. but he hardly made that jersey his own outside of by default. he might be committed to his game but that doesn't seem to include commitment to putting his body on the line and making tackles and his hands are still diabolical at times. hasn't done enough to convince me Moylan shouldn't take his place at FB and that is saying something cause Moylan gives me the ****s and has his own defensive and handling problems in the 1

yes Will is inexperienced and still developing, he gunna have areas of rust that need improvement but he is so far off being the complete FB we need. needs to show big improvement and more consistency in 2021 to be considered a genuine viable option beyond the short term. and I do like Will, i've given him alot of wraps and defended him, he is exciting in bursts, can read the play and communicate and I want him to succeed and play well for us. you need a special player in the 1 to be a serious threat at the business end IMO although right now I would take a solid type FB that can tackle and catch the ball and run it back without getting snapped in half

Will needs to really step up and nail it in 2021, he isn't 18 and we seem to be on the market for a fb option further along than him to take his place but JMO really had no option other than to extend him for at least a year without snagging someone external to fill the void

I'll be very interested to see how Kennedy handles the next three months.

He has probably got as good as he will get just on his natural ability, and he will need to up his commitment to go to the next level. He needs to bulk up so that he can hit the line with confidence, and some time with a sprint coach working on his speed off the mark wouldn't go astray. Once he gets those long legs going he covers the ground pretty well, just needs to go through the gears quicker.

I believe he has done well considering his limited experience, and hope he decides to put in the effort required to go to that next level.

What'd you want mate, JMo to roast the bloke in his local rag?

"Will's a good bloke but he was deadset my last option" said Morris, adding "if Moyza could hop a little quicker I would've tried that."
