Hi Sharkies members,

I received my members pack but this year was disappointed to see no option of a Baseball cap, beanie, scarf etc.

I really want a 2020 members baseball cap. Are we able to buy them?

That's just what I was told by @CronullaMembers on Twitter.
Whoever runs that handle was Hellbent on defending the fact that's this yes members pack was **** house.
My Mrs is a Bronx supporter. In their pack this year they get :
Lanyard
Cap
Scarf
Gift card
Stubbie holder
Camping mug
Sticker

I got a lanyard, sticker, pin, keyring and certificate saying I'm a member. The kind of thing a 12 year old would get at school.

Someone on the members council is running that account.

I know this was previously brought up in the past, to remove parts or all of the members packs.

I have been against it this idea. Sorry I can’t help much these days

Nah I agree with Snow. Merch has always been pretty lame. Thought the cooler bag has come in handy but I’d MUCH rather a voucher to something I’d actually wear/use.

I bought the training cap recently, much better than any member hat I've ever received.

Yep I love the cooler bag, use it all the time.

People will come around to it more as they realise they can get things they want even more with the voucher rather than the club having to cut corners to stuff cheap merch into the packs.

I'd much rather the voucher. I have that many caps and scarfs etc I can make rugs out of them. Certainly don't need any more of them.

I’m on the fence, if the packs and merch are made well, then it is good to have them included.
Should the merch be of sub quality or unable to made at most economical rates, then I’ll go with voucher
(However they need to ensure that the voucher is redeemable via sharks store also

A voucher is better for adults. Should be merch for kids.

Like a lot of things the club does, it's more how they communicated the changes that matter.

Ideally when renewing online you'd be presented with options. Say you have a $60 membership that comes with a $50 merch voucher. Why not give the option of spending it on a $50 'members pack' with the usual dross, OR $50 on a high quality shirt OR try to upsell them heaps of various packs. Do it all as part of the one process and you won't even hear a peep. Give the option to save it for later or use it on a gift card or donate it to charity or whatever else.

They're definitely going for a lazy tax approach and it'll work and save the club money but at the expense of devaluing our memberships.
