Although I bet the "home team" will be able to count the entire attendance in their home crowd average.

Souths get 2 home games at 2 double headers. Bull**** imo and end of year home crowd averages everyone will say how well they were attended.

Same thing happened this year cause we played every game at our home ground and on Thursday and Friday nights against out of state teams our crowds look worse than they are

I doubt you can have two home teams counting the same crowd figure. Probably split.

Was our last double header the game against the Dragons at ANZ (stadium Australia) in 2000?

Don't really care if they count the entire crowd as part of the average for the home team - what are they supposed to do, walk around the crowd asking every punter which games and team they showed up for?
You don't win comps for crowd numbers although looks good for the sponsors ect.

We played the Tigers in 2004 as part of a Double Header.

Pretty sure the other game was Sonny Bill's debut.

I love the idea of double headers. I think there should be more per season. Even if each team had 1 home and 1 away game as a double header its a chance to play to a big crowd, played on weekends where travelling fans have the best chance to get there.

I think they need to be careful not to over do it. I'd probably go once per year, maximum.

How would they over do it? Still gotta play the same amount of games anyway. As long as they dont start stinging double the ordinary ticket price i dont think it would matter. But as i said before, has to be done on the right weekend and done with the right opponents. Souths/roosters sharks/manly would be a great double header

Agree. Twice in Sydney per season is probably enough.

Yep as i said, 1 a piece home/away. Giving each team 11 home games, 11 away and 2 somewhat neutral games but each count as a home and away. Id love to see the Anzac round get 2 double headers in syd

It would be interesting to know the third party value that the Broncos and Storm do play with though.

As a fair question though, what value do you think it is at for those clubs? Million or more they are playing with outside of the cap as TPA?

3rd party is hard. Depending on what we call 3rd party.

If its all endorsements, then capping it is stupid. Say nike wanna give the games best 600k a year to wear their boots, regardless of what team he plays on, thats gotta be allowed.

Its when clubs 'find' sponsors to top up salaries thats the problem. How do u stop that? Do we put a max contract on players like other sports? Then allow endorsements to no end? While we have clubs with mates in business we will always have somewhat shady goings ons in the 3rd party world. They can distance themselves from clubs all they want but the deals arent there when they sign elsewhere, which means that to me that deal is related to his club salary and it is a related third party. To me a 3rd party deal should be totally seperate to club deals and if they change clubs or get out mid contract, the deal doesnt go away unless they breach. What club they play at shouldnt matter. So if brisbane get some blokes on their 'unders' deals with all this top up from corporate brisbane, on say a 4 year deal, if they get shipped off to auckland, that 3rd party should stand unless theres grounds to terminate it. Could even up playing fields a bit.
