I think it's just Flanno being Flanno, loves a bit of trickery.

He's good mates with Reynold's family. It's just a very public warning shot to Chad imo.

i think it is smart to be honest

a lot of online stuff and media talk by chad is he is testing the market

so why shouldnt we test the market? if chad wants x amount but there is a player who is better for cheaper, wouldn't it make sense to get the cheaper player?

Yeah agree. According to Newman on the podcast there is very little interest for Chad amongst the other clubs, pricing himself way too high. I think Flanno is trying to scare him into re-signing sooner rather than later at a more reasonable price.

It feels a bit like the Super League days atm. Everyone thinks they're worth more than in reality.

Massive is an over statement & I do think Reynolds is a slightly better footballer than Chad.

I just think in terms of the halves pairing it would be a step backwards as both Jimmy & Reynolds are better suited to the second receiver ball running play maker role.

I'm very happy to be proven wrong if it eventuates.

reynolds looked more comfortable last week with a half that just controlled and kicked, which is maloney

i wouldnt say it is a step backwards, its more of an upgrade that just needs to re-jog

again, i dont want reynolds, but i feel people are discounting him as a player because they don't like him ala mick ennis

My main concern would be us trying to force Jimmy too much into running the traditional halfback role & losing out on his best play.

Yep a move of maloney to 7 and reynolds im for. In fact when i said that the other day i was flamed. Dont care. With a performing forward pack and stable half, he will be good. Experienced REP 5/8. But nah, better stick with the local junior.

Like bird, chads done his job here. He owns a title no other player does, only sharks junior to win a premiership here. If he or any others leave they still remain part of that team. The team that equalled or broke every club record.

Everything I have seen on Reynolds is he wants big money so I'd say he will be more expensive than Chad or equal to.

I don't think anyone will be willing to pay him the 800k that was mentioned in the papers a week or two back.

Nor will anyone pay the rumoured amounts for Chad. I can see clubs spending more on Reynolds than Chad though.
